As the noodles from China, the electronic watches from Japan and the pasta from Italy has spread to all nook and corner of the world, so also the Yoga Therapy practiced by the sages of India are spreading fast globally. Although Yoga is a slower form of physical activity, and being so, is considered boring and monotonous, yet recent researches suggest this form of fitness activity as the best to connect with the mind. Yoga is perhaps one of the oldest forms of physical activity. Among all the various forms of such activities, Yoga is the only one which gives immense importance to the mind and its connectivity to the body. It includes meditation and breathing techniques, besides giving stress to relaxation of the body. Such body-mind coordination helps in developing proper control of the hormonal balances in the body. The run of life is taking away a lot from us, not without affecting our body, leading to ailments early in the age. If one believes in prevention being better than cure, he has to believe in the practice of Yoga. The stress that we have in our lives is basically due to the fact that we need to do more things than possible in a relaxed state in our day. The fast pace leaves no time for relaxation of the body muscles and nerves, leading to hormonal imbalance, which eventually becomes the root cause of health hazards. The relaxation that is induced during Yoga practice makes our muscles take rest, our nerves rejuvenate and our hormone secretions being controlled in the correct balance. The relaxation of the mind through meditation takes out the tiredness of the brain, thus causing less cell damage, inducing development of newer cells and thus reducing the damage caused by stress and anxiety. Research shows that prolonged practice of Yoga enhances the release of dopamine and endorphine, the hormones which are responsible for keeping us happy and on a high. Yoga also helps to increase of oxytocin secretion, another happy hormone. As a result, Yoga Therapy is nowadays suggested more as a stress management tool. Although Yoga Therapy needs time to show result, yet the instant relief from stress due to the relaxation of the body is evident. Thus, with more and more number of people getting caught up in lifestyle disorder diseases, Yoga Therapy is the guaranteed way out. Yoga Therapy must be practiced under guidance initially, and prolonged practice not only tames the mind, it also makes the body highly flexible, thus helping prevention of joint pains, arthritis and spondylitis with ageing. The good things of Yoga are still being discovered, but it is being increasingly used by professional sports coaches also to help the players enhance their focus on key activities. Even a lot many numbers of corporate organizations are encouraging their employees to undertake Yoga Therapy in order to keep a control on their stress level, keep happy and enhance performance. The mystery of Yoga and its effect the human brain thus still remains an interesting subject of research.
