You Can Fail At What You Hate So Leader, Why Not Do What You Love?

Some people think that you can only fail at the work that you love and so they stay stuck in a job, a business that they dislike thinking that it is safer… And then, they get made redundant… The company they work for, shuts down… They come to work one day to find that everyone left the building and no one told them anything… Their business struggles to make any money even though it was a sure thing, simple to follow, business-in-a-box, type thing… And though they told themselves that they would sacrifice their dream for this sure-thing job/business, they now realise that you can equally fail at what you hate as well as at what you love. So, why the heck not commit to doing what you love? WHY ON EARTH NOT? There is no definitive path that will avoid all heartbreak and challenge so why not then commit to doing what you love with gusto… I know it is crazy logic that I present you with today but I need you to see what I am saying here… Because your life is tick tocking away because you are afraid of doing the work that you really do want to do… You are selling your dreams for a certainty that you have no right to feel… You are denying the world the real power of you because you are so afraid that you do not have what it takes to live out your full dream and create wealth from it! And you have no idea whether your sure-thing path will actually get you anywhere good! You have made an assumption based on nothing much… Because, really, you have no idea whether your sure-thing path will even get you to ‘there’! ‘There’ being a place where you suddenly have enough money to do the work you really want to do… And even if it did get you ‘there’, you would find it pretty hard to give up the ‘sure-thing’ to go do the real work you are born to do… So the chances are, you will settle for mediocrity and insignificance because it will feel safer… You will learn to settle for the accolades that the wrong people give you because you will tell yourself that that is enough… You will tell yourself that it is impossible to have it all… You will tell yourself to stop being greedy and selfish… You will settle into feeling that vague sense of dissatisfaction… You will seek happiness in addiction… Addiction to too much drink, food, TV, religion, sex, mindfulness… Pick your addiction of choice… And all to drown out the voice inside… The one telling you that this is not your path! The one causing you to feel regret over what could have been if you had just had the courage… And if you are like most people, you will go to the grave with that regret… Justifying yourself as you sell yourself short, addicted to the appearance of success rather than allowing yourself to experience the reality of it. After all, leader, if you have the ability to succeed at work you hate then you have the ability to succeed at what you are born to do. If you would just redirect all that effort to your real work, you could live a life of abundance, success, happiness and love… Making money doing what you love. But no, you are selling your true work for a lie… You are selling your real self for security and safety… And you actually have no right to feel secure! Because though it could work, it could also pretty easily be taken away from you in a flash! Ask all those people who lost their livelihood in the last economic crash. All dependent on someone else to provide safety, security and certainty to them… Forgetting that it is just a human being that they are depending on… And I get it… It works for some people to be so dependent and they find peace and contentment in that… But you are not those people! You are not! You know it because there is dissatisfaction pumping away with you… And a knowledge that you have sold yourself! Leader, wake the heck up and live your true life… You know all that you need to know to take that first step in the direction of your REAL, TRUE life – your zone of genius!
