You can Still Win

Even if you are late in the last period of the game you can still win. Never give up on the possibility of scoring no matter how bad things may seem to be. Sometimes all it takes is a good bounce of the proverbial ball to turn things around. If you are in the right position you can be the one who catches it. When I was younger we would play basketball quite frequently. I was one of the smaller people out there so the odds of me jumping and pulling down rebounds were just about nonexistent. I learned that if I stood right outside of the circle or players (and there were many) one out of about every ten rebounds would come to me. If I stood in the right place I could get a rebound and have a chance to take a shot. Every once in a while a rebound would bounce right into my hands so I had to be alert. Most times I would have to move a little bit in order to catch it, but if I were quick enough I could beat out whoever else was close because I was expecting the odd bounce. Most other people were competing with the crowd and were not usually prepared for the errant ball. The point in saying all of that is that life is sometimes funny. We need to expect the unexpected in order to take advantage of all possible opportunities. The Boy Scout motto is, be prepared and that is a must. I found in my personal business ventures that the best thing to do is to blaze your own trail. Once you have committed to a course of action work it from every possible angle. Sometimes your win will come from the place that you least expected. Whenever the opportunity does come be prepared to take full advantage of it before it slips away. There have been many times that I have seen an opportunity that I just couldn’t take advantage of because I didn’t have the personnel or the money. I have one venture that sort of just came along unexpectedly one time. I started to not do it and when I did take advantage of it I never thought that it would turn out the way that it did. I am working now to make it my primary income source. If I work it long and hard enough the break that I need is bound to happen. Never think that your goal is impossible to reach no matter what the circumstances. My faith in God works for me. I know that God created the universe so there is no way that he can’t meet my needs. Times seem tough but I have the confidence that that is no problem that he can’t handle. I know this so it gives me the incentive to keep on moving. Imagining the good life is one thing but achieving it is totally different. The dreamer has to turn into the doer at some point in his life. I am always amazed when I watch sports news and the underdog is questioned by reporters about an upcoming sports contest. They will always say these words. “I feel that if we play our best we can win.” This never fails. No matter how outmatched a team is they will feel like they have a chance to win. You should feel the same way. Sometimes the underdog will win and he will win only because he thought that he could. If you can’t convince yourself of the possible victory you won’t expend the energy that may be necessary to win. When a professional boxer goes into the ring he knows that the victory will probably be by a very slender margin. In order to secure the victory he needs to insure that he has trained harder and longer than his opponent. The same opponent is attempting to out train him. He must expend the required energy to win. If he is not absolutely convinced that winning is possible then he won’t put out the required investment. What about you? If you are down right now are you out? Is it possible for you to win?
