The biggest reason people struggle with fatigue and weight gain is because they are burning the wrong fuel! They’re burning carbs and proteins for energy instead of stored body fats. The body is designed to burn calories to produce energy. It does this by burning calories from the breakdown of either carbohydrates, protein (lean muscle) or fats. Successful weight occurs when you trigger your body to burn stored fats for energy. The patients I see, who are always struggling with fatigue, weight, cravings, mood swings, hormonal and chemical imbalances are burning carbs and proteins, NOT stored body fat. The fact that these people are burning the wrong fuel (carbs and proteins), is the primary reason they suffer from fatigue and lack of energy. The body produces two and a half times more energy when you breakdown fats for energy instead of carbs and proteins. This is why it is important to identify if your metabolism is working for or against you. The first step in overcome your fatigue and weight problem is to find out how well your metabolism is functioning. I encourage you to use our "Online Health Quizzes" to see how well your metabolism is functioning, are you burning the wrong fuel? If you don’t score well, the next step is to identify is your metabolism out of whack due to your diet? Could it be stress, which is a huge factor on whether or not your body burns or stores fat. In “To Burn or Not to Burn – Fat is the Question” I discuss how those stress hormones, cortisol and adrenaline, produced by your adrenal glands will trigger your metabolism to either burn or store fats. Don’t assume or be confused that weight loss is all about how many calories you eat and burn. Or how many fat grams or carbs you ate. If you haven’t been successful with your dieting results, it could be because you are focusing on the wrong things. I encourage you to follow our Healthy Steps Program and grab a copy of “To Burn or Not to Burn – Fat is the Question” and if stress is that missing piece of the puzzle to your fatigue and weight loss problem.

We are adapted to survive mild exposures to radiation. After all, the sun is a kind of controlled nuclear bomb and it releases a lot of radiation. Of course, this radiation, and man-made radiation, can also cause cancer and a host of short- and long-term health problems.

"Raw Foods" is a popular phrase these days that is often misunderstood, yet represents a powerful, grass roots health movement. Some people shun the idea, not knowing what it means. Others embrace the idea, not knowing what it means. And that's no wonder, since there are many different interpretations of what it means to be on a raw food diet. Personally, I advocate a plant-based raw food diet. In other words, I suggest eating green leafy vegetables, sea vegetables, other vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouted seeds, and fruit.
