The major disadvantage to creating your own product is the time and effort required to complete it. On average, it should take about a month to develop an ebook and get it ready to market. Although this may seem like a long time, consider that the life of an ebook is about 2 years. And you can earn substantial amounts of money during that period.

In addition, you are not locked into any specific terms if you create your own product. If you like, you can change the price, bonuses offered, or the sales page any time you like. With an affiliate product, you do not have this luxury. Another very important difference is the fact that you get 100% of the income your product generates. Using affiliate products, you only receive a percentage of the profits.

And last, but not least, having your own product allows you to develop your own affiliate program. By starting your own affiliate program, you can have hundreds of others selling your product. Each time an affiliate makes a sale, you make money.

However, there are some disadvantages with this type of product. You must be aware that other people have purchased the resell rights to the same product and they too are selling it. This means that your product will have competition in the marketplace. Before purchasing a product with resell rights, do a thorough search to determine the amount of competition. Visit competitor’s websites and do some research there. How much are they selling it for and what type of bonuses are they offering.

After completing your research, determine if it is feasible to compete with others using that product. If you are not certain that you can compete effectively, move on and look for another product.

Creating your own product is the best solution to make money online. However, if you feel incapable of developing your own product, consider products with resell rights.
