Unleash your Creative Power

Our thoughts determine the size and scope of our expectations, our expectations drive our creative capacity and our commitment, perseverance and creative energy eventually turn into the reality we get to experience. Are you guarding the thoughts that you are thinking, ensuring that you focus your creative energy on only positive outcomes, which are aligned with your desires or are you allowing negative thoughts to dominate your mind. Positive thinking, turns into desirable outcomes and fulfilment, negative thinking turns into regret and unhappiness.

Stress can become your power tool for success, when viewed differently

Do you have any idea when the majority of heart attacks occur? It is 9 am on a Monday morning. There is no biological or physiological reason why this happens; it is merely a symptom of the stressful lives we lead. “Most people are so stressed out and dislike their lives so much that they actually allow their hearts to attack them on a Monday morning” How crazy does that sound. This unnecessary stress is caused by a number of factors.r

Your creative energy flows where your thinking and expectation goes

Our brains are amazing they work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, from before you are born, right up until we fall in love. The truth is our brains are far more powerful than any computer ever developed; our thoughts are in fact so powerful that they can either create or destroy. They can create the most amazing and beautiful things, fill us with love and grace or if we choose they can destroy dreams, relationships or even lives.

Falling down and making mistakes is what helps us grow

I remember, as a young man, my father used to offer me advice and direction. As great as his intentions were, I never realised that he was speaking from a standpoint of experience and wisdom and that he only wanted to help me avoid, making the same mistakes that he had made. On many occasions, I ignored my father’s advice and encountered numerous challenges and obstacles, which I could have avoided, had I had the foresight to realise that my father’s experience gave him an advantage and a far greater opportunity to be correct.

Only Look in the Rear-view Mirror if you want to go Backwards

It often astounds me, how things that are such common sense, are seldom common practice. We all know that history serves only one purpose and that is to act as our tutor. Yet so many people spend an inordinate amount of time reminiscing about what could have been or using the past to justify their current lack of performance. Learn as much as you can, from what has happened in your past, create a crystal clear picture in your mind, of exactly what you want in the future and then live in the NOW.

Can there ever be any greater wealth than good health?

One of the most neglected areas of our lives is our Physical health. I can never understand why so many people neglect to take care of the vehicle that supplies their energy and carries their mind. We can never expect to achieve anything meaningful and sustain our level of achievement if we continue to neglect our bodies. Why does it take a catastrophe, where we are either lying in hospital recovering from a triple heart bypass operation or we are so overweight that we cannot function properly any longer, before we see the need to take care of our health.

Lead Yourself into the New Changing World

Before the advent of the computer age and globalisation, there were only two certainties in life, namely death and taxes. Since we moved into the new millennium and the rate of technological development has sped up even more, there is now a third certainty and that certainty is constant change. This inevitable accelerated change is speeding up year after year, due to the on-going technological development, the explosion of knowledge, globalisation, the shift in economic power to Asia and the changing demographic majority in a number of first world countries.

Turn Meetings into Victories

How much of your productive work time do you waste in pointless unproductive meetings that seem to meander in a rudderless fashion down a meaningless path of unnecessary blathering and brain numbing pointlessness? These types of meetings are the thief of one of the most valuable tools available to any organisation, namely the ability to use a gathering of minds, as a powerful tool for brain storming and productive activity. Turn pointlessness into productivityr

Turn Learning into Actual Improvement

The real measure around whether all the effort, time and resources, you are putting into trying to improve yourself, is working and making real and tangible differences in your life, is easily measured in the improved or better results you are getting to enjoy as a result of all your efforts. People will always remember how you make them feel

We all want to make a difference during our lifetimes, to leave a legacy after we have completed our time on this planet. Making a difference is not just about volunteering to assist people that come from a less advantaged background than you do. You should shift your thinking away from seeing making a difference as an event or something you must do, making a difference is a new way of life, a new way of conducting yourself. This shift will allow you to make a difference, every day in your own unique way, during every moment.

Success is not just about setting goals

After you have invested time into creating a crystal clear picture of what you want your future to look like, you have set realistic goals that will stretch you and move you towards achieving just that in your life. You have given yourself something to aim for, success is not a destination, it is a direction. Now all that is left to do, is to build a blueprint or map that will not only give you direction, but will chart a clear course, which will take you from where you are to where you want your life to go.

You can never Manage Time

Time is only a concept that allows us to rationalize linear changes in our lives. The only reality that makes any sense to me is that we live in a universe without any beginning or end and that we are all an important and integral part of this ete al universe. We exist as intelligent energy within this infinite continuum and as energy can either be destroyed or created, only converted from one form to another, we must be ete al.

What will it take to unlock the Superhuman in you?

Have you ever explored the limits of your potential? Or are you limiting yourself by what you believe is possible for you. There are amazing stories going back through history, where humans have exhibited incredible feats of both physical and mental prowess. One of the stories that really stood out for me was when, Marie Payton was using her self-drive mower to cut her lawn in High Island Texas. The mower pulled out of her hands and began to careen out of control across her lawn, heading straight for her granddaughter.

This strategy is most certainly not about activity, it aims to help you to focus all your energy on developing a productive new habit set that will promote effectiveness and efficiency. In the first article, it was clear that we must learn the art of saying no to the good, so that we have capacity to say yes to the great.

Becoming a Super Achiever is about taking Calculated Risks

Acquiring great success and achievement, often requires you to take on some level of risk. As most super achievers have taken a number of risks in their lives and it is very often that very risk taking that made them successful in the first place, it seems pretty obvious that super achievement and accepting some level of risk are synonymous. The secret though is to know the difference between taking a calculated risk and blundering into something that is just plain foolish risk.

It certainly looks like we are going through really difficult times on a global and to a lesser extent a national scale. If you are willing to make the shift and be one of the people that are able to see this economic turmoil as the perfect storm for entrepreneurship, you will look back in 20 to 30 years’ time and fondly remember these challenging economic times as the greatest window of opportunity for any entrepreneur.

Turn Activity into Effectiveness (Part 3)

The reason most people don’t practice the simple plan for super achievement, that I have described in the previous two articles, is that as simple as these routines are to learn and apply in your life, so easy are they not to use. There are constant distractions, temptations and noise going on all around you that will trap you into taking the path of least resistance and to keep doing things the way you always have. You will encounter traps all around you that steal your most precious resource, namely your time, every day. Look out for and avoid the following at all costs: Just say no.r

How to unleash the potential of Gen-Y

Developing an understanding of how millennials or Gen Y-ers (people born between 1980 and 1995) are motivated or inspired has proven to be a very challenging exercise. They are the generation that was raised by overly doting parents who pandered to their every whim, coddled their self-esteem and praised their every action. They played in sports teams where keeping score was frowned upon, where everyone was a winner and each team member got a trophy for just showing up.r

Change your future by changing your vision of what is possible

No matter how good your eyesight may be, it will be of little value if you do not have vision. This is your ability to see things that may be invisible to other people or to innovate and see things that may not even exist yet. The limitations we face in life are not due to our current circumstances or abilities but rather by our vision of what is possible for us. True vision is the ability to create pictures of what can be, it is a place where we appeal to our better selves, a place where we appeal to that hidden self and we strive to become more.r

Or is the picture that is reflected back at you telling a very different story? Most people are very quick to state what they value most, as being their relationships or families. When should you Fire Customers?

Customers are crucial to any business and should be encouraged to know, like and trust our businesses. Are they however always right or are they sometimes even completely wrong? My wife and I were on board a flight that was delayed more than 30 minutes. The delay was due to 3 passengers that had obviously been drinking in the pub and had not been watching the time. They walked onto the plane making a huge raucous with huge bags that were clearly larger than airline standards. As they were late and their bags were massive, there was no space in the overhead bins for their bags.

When Should you trust the advice of experts?

When you choose to follow the advice of any self-professed experts, it is always advisable to be absolutely certain that their advice is sound. Ideas and concepts that work for one person may not work for someone else. The safest way to use any advice you may encounter is to examine it first, exploring the following criterion. • Are the circumstances of the person dispensing the advice the same as your own. • If that concept worked for someone else, will it work for you too? • Does it match and serve your personality and unique strengths?r
