and pack a monstrous suitcase full of just about everything, only to kick yourself later because it was so heavy and you only used about half of what you brought? Too much baggage is a pain in the ass. Let’s talk emotional baggage for a minute. Everyone has an emotional suitcase and through the years circumstances and life in general causes people to put negative emotions in their suitcase and carry it along day to day. Pain, depression, and the blues = spiritual opportunity

Live long enough and at some point you will battle feelings of depression. You might not struggle to the point of being diagnosed as clinically depressed, but struggling with a feeling of sadness for a period of days or weeks is quite common. It can be caused by situations or circumstances, such as relationship breakups, job issues, health problems, financial struggles, a death in the family, and so on.

Is it Codependency or Just Not The Right Partner?

As we struggle with codependency, it’s hard to consider that our current partner really just might not be a good match for us. Sure, I believe that many problems can be worked out in a relationship, but only if both partners want to work on them honestly and openly. For the codependent, working it out is usually the favored option because we’re so afraid to be alone. I know that was my problem for a very long time, even though my relationship was quite dysfunctional.

Suck It Up Cream Puff!

My basketball coach in high school was awesome….and awful. I loved him…and hated him. This love/hate relationship was based on the fact that he would not give us one damn inch of sympathy when it came to anything. He was a coach-a damn good coach- and he was serious about pushing you to the limit and winning. Tired? Too bad. Give me another suicide. Frustrated? Suck it up and get your ass back out there and play your heart out. Mind not in the game? Get off the court and cop a squat on the bench.

Your Present Pain Originated a Long Time Ago

“90% of the present pain you feel is linked to unresolved pain from the past.” When I heard about this principle, I was like, are you’re kidding me? You mean to tell me the crazy-ass emotional insanity that shows up unexpected and uninvited in my life periodically is linked to my childhood? Crap. I’m screwed. Yes, so “experts” claim that only 10% of the pain we feel today actually comes from issues we are facing today. The other 90% stems from repressed emotions from our dysfunctional childhood.

Emotional Release Techniques For A Happy Life

As human beings we all need to let go sometimes in order to experience a happy life. Keeping emotions locked up within ourselves is not healthy for us or for those close to us. This is why emotional release is a necessary thing. The problem is that many people have no idea how to perform this “emotional dump” and therefore keep it locked inside them until they simply explode. (Figuratively of course.)
