What is The SEO Value of a High Quality Link?

I spend a lot of time working on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for myself and for clients. One of the most common questions I get asked is: "just how much do links actually count?" Several months ago, I was helping a client with a blog. I totally restructured and redesigned their blog. Their blog had been around a while, but only had 2 posts. I added 2 or 3 more posts. The blog had been in the root of the site, but I changed all that and ended up with the blog under a "blog" subdirectory and a few static pages in the root of the site.

We Want You As a Customer!

How hard is it to understand - you can't make your business grow by turning people off? Let me give you a couple of examples. I'm going to a conference this weekend. Flying out on Thursday morning. I'm going to hear and meet John Maxwell and Clebe McClary. So I bought a few new shirts and got my suit and some other things out of the closet and took them to the dry cleaners on Tuesday morning. We didn't get there until around 11:30am or so, so I didn't expect to get them back the same day.

Long Tail Keywords

What is a "Long Tail Keyword Phrase"? This is the definition in my "SEO Brain Dump" which is only available as the bonus to my SEO Secrets Revealed course: ... Long Tail: Refers to a less searched, more specific keyword phrase. For example, "Internet Business" is a broad keyword phrase. Because it's broad, meaning it covers a lot of sites and a lot of sites try to rank well for it, it's hard to get your site to rank well for that term.

Internet Business Ethics - What NOT to do...

Being a victim is a hard. No one likes to admit they were a victim. Criminals, rapists, child molesters, conmen and the like understand this very well and they count on the fact that a most (or at least a lot) of their victims will not tell others what happened to them. Knowing this, they're free to strike again and again. There are plenty of fake experts, bogus gurus, bum products, and just plain "takers" in the Internet Business, home business, and internet marketing areas these days. They all count on the same quirks in our human nature to get away ripping people off.

Slap Me! What IS a Google Slap?

I read something over the weekend in a twitter post that lead me to an article that talked about the "dreaded Google Slap". If you’re new to SEO, Search Engine Optimization, you may be asking: "What in the Sam Hill is a Google Slap?" Well I'm glad you asked. I don't like the term because it implies that Google randomly punishes you for no reason. Google is in business and they do quite well - they want to provide the best search results they can.

Success is not Sticky - You Have to Hold On To It!

Failure holds you back. If you are not where you want to be in life, then it holds you back. Everything pulls you back to where you are when you're trying to get ahead, when you're trying to improve yourself. Your situation, your friends, your family, your debt, everything... maybe not on purpose, but those things hold you back. Success isn't that way, it does not hold you up, it does not keep you at the top. If success was sticky you wouldn't have scandals and sad situations like Tiger Woods, John Edwards, lindsay lohan... the list is pretty long so I'll stop.
