Don't kiss your baby on the mouth

It happens every day. A young mother tenderly kisses her baby on the mouth or gently wipes her baby’s face with a cloth moistened with her own saliva. She caringly tests the temperature of the baby food by tasting it first before serving it to her baby on the same spoon or lets her baby playfully put its fingers in her mouth and then into its own mouth. Don’t! The bacteria that cause tooth decay and periodontal disease are not found in the mouths of newbo babies and can be passed on by even a simple kiss on the lips.

Is God Fat Too?

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (http://www.cdc.gov/), American society has become “obesogenic.” In other words, we’re fat and getting fatter. The majority of people in this country profess themselves to be Christians yet this same majority is also overweight or obese which is completely contrary to 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: “…do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price.

Muscle Up Your Website

More and more otherwise astute businesses, organizations, and professionals are making poor choices in their website design and construction. Too often, they choose a friend who is “good with computers” to be the webmaster (and usually willing to do it for next to nothing) or they choose a cheap, over-the-counter software package just to save money. Either way, it can be a big mistake because the end result is a glut of lackluster and less-than-optimal websites that never achieve what they might have achieved if they were designed right in the first place.

Babies may be brighter than we think

Believe it or not, your baby – even as young as 6 months old – might be brighter than you think. In fact, your little tyke might be able to interpret the emotions of your family pet even before he/she can talk. A new study published in the July edition of Developmental Psychology (www.apa.org/jou als/dev/) and reported in LiveScience.com (http://www.livescience.com/) found that 6-month-olds can associate the sounds of growling, barking, and whining of dogs with pictures of the dogs showing corresponding body language.

Get Big Fast without Juicing

The temptation to use steroids is often irresistible to young men surrounded by “roiders” prowling the gym and strutting their stuff with their artificially-enhanced muscles, bulging veins, and inflated egos. It seems that everyone wants to get bigger and stronger faster without devoting the time – sometimes years - that it sometimes takes to build the body naturally. Cabbage ears - a dubious distinction

You see them most often on wrestlers, boxers, and mixed martial artists (and sometimes rugby players) – those swollen, puffy-looking ears that look like cauliflowers (a variety of cabbage). Hence the name: cauliflower ear. Also known as perichondrial hematoma, the cauliflower ear is a common injury among athletes engaged in combat sports, but it can happen to anyone who suffers a blow to the ear. It usually affects the outer ear causing blood or fluid to collect under the perichondrium causing the ear to become swollen and deformed and resembling a cauliflower in appearance.

Par course exercise - outdoor exercise for the whole family

Like solitary sentinels they stand alone in parks, recreation areas, and along countless trails throughout America. Consisting of an assortment of balance beams, chinning bars, parallel bars, and stretching posts in various configurations, these individual exercise stations -- collectively known as a par course -– are probably among the most practical, yet least used, fitness amenities anywhere. The par course was originally designed for outdoor interval training to accommodate broadscale community or group fitness.
