To Achieve Everything You Want, Avoid the "Dreamer Versus Doer Syndrome"

Dreamers and Doersr April, 13, 2015 Recently, it has been pointed out to me that there are “Dreamers” and there are “Doers”. I think this implies that people who dream don’t achieve results. It implies that being a “Doers” is the more valid choice of the two. I think this whole premise is over simplified. I don’t think either is the best choice. I believe that the perfect path to achievement is the middle path. A combination of the two. I have come to know in my experience, that there are three elements to significant “achievement”. You must have a vision or a goal “Dream”.r

Knowing WHY you came from, Choosing WHERE you're going!

Knowing Why You Came From: Choose where you’re going! I have seen this picture posted around a lot over the past couple of years: The picture States:("Everything you do is based on the decisions you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather your argument or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make.")

Is There Really Happiness Over The Rainbow?

Is there really happiness over the rainbow? What’s so special about that place over the rainbow? What’s so wrong with Kansas? Is Glenda, the Good Witch really any more special tha Auntie Em’? Are the scarecrow and the tin man any better than the farm hands whom so adoringly care for Dorothy? Or are they only so in our own minds? Does Kansas really only exist in black and white? My argument is that Kansas exists in vivid, screaming, cannon blasted color! But we suffer from self-inflicted color blindness.r

Wipe That Smug Look Off, Your Chevy Volt Is Hurting My City Of Grand Rapids' Environment!

I look at this picture (an electric car charging station) and all I see is almost $19,000.00 down the drain that the City Grand Rapids has spent to appease progressives and a few greenie weenies. The City has five of these stations and I’m thinking I would rather have had some pot holes fixed with that $100K than these charging stations. On top of that, the City is paying for these costs, in part, by raising the rates on adjacent meters by $.50 cents an hour. To make it more ridiculous, these things are barely used.

Self Improvement Coach Patents Formula Proven To Shrink Tumors During His Own Cancer Battle

https://www.gofundme.com/cellfighter6 In December of 2014 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 head and neck cancer. I struggled greatly with the decision to undergo chemotherapy and radiation instead of fighting the disease strictly through natural alte atives. With such a treatable form of cancer and the promise of eradication through modern cancer care, I chose that path – but in combination with alte ative healing methods proven to fight and prevent malignant tumors.

Winners give up wasting time.

Are you one of the many that get “paralysis by analysis”? Do you spend considerably more time sitting around planning rather than doing? Do you delay progress while over-thinking a problem or, worse yet, imagining every conceivable negative contingency? I believe that many like the “idea” of being a winner, but when it comes to actually doing what it takes to be one, they get so wrapped up in unimportant details that they end up like a dog chasing its own tail. I believe in taking a stand, having a game plan, and following it.

Stop Selling (and be the ultimate salesman)

When you hear the word salesman…if you are like me you get a visceral response. Not always positive. What notions, fears and images come to mind when you see or encounter a sales man? Images of Willy Loman or Leisure Suit Larry the hustling used car salesman? Or do you bring up images of “Sales Guru’s” like Zig Ziglar, Tom Hopkins et al? Or if you are really tuned in, the real masters of the Sales universe: Steve Jobs, The current President or even…The Pope. If you are in business, any type of business, you are in sales. However, only a small % of

Winners give up bad associations, partnerships and relationships.

What happens when pleasing others runs contrary to serving your own best interests? People all over the country have told me that they feel held back by the very people they believe should be helping them succeed. They secretly fear that their own family and friends work against their success…are they crazy? What is it about human nature that makes people a little bit jealous when they see us excel? People are just like crabs in a bucket; family, can be like crabs in a tall bucket with a lid on it! If you ever have the chance to observe this behavior, do so…it’s fascinating.

Knowing WHY you came from, Choosing WHERE you're going!

Knowing Why You Came From: Choose where you’re going! I have seen this picture posted around a lot over the past couple of years: It’s a quote attributed to Wayne Dyer. Wayne is a writer, mentor, near avatar that I greatly admire and read quite often. However on this statement, taken at face value, I call Bull (Shyt). Many times when I have seen this posted on Facebook, I have been tempted to reply, “Well…where did we learn to make all these wrong decisions”?r

Twenty Reasons Why We Deserve Trump

You asked for it, you got it Trump 2016 I have been a political junkie for more than twenty years. Some years I knew every congressional race in every important district, in every state. I’m not there anymore; I’m mainly on the sidelines. Though I do still sit on committee’s and vet candidates for our purposes in my home state.r

Are people really choosing to stay unemployed? Really?

Are people really choosing to stay unemployed? Really? These comments are from a discussio I had with a man in Michigan. How do we motivate, inspire, reach and help here? The following is a response from a man in Michigan to a community where I posed the preceding question. I have the opportunity to connect with many unemployed, and would be, aspiring entrepreneurs. This, unfortunately is not a unique perspective, especially in Michigan. My counsel to him was that we can all do something about our situation, even if it’s only to control how we react.

Winners Give Up Giving Up!

Winners Give Up Giving Upr When I think of ‘hanging in there’, I’m reminded of this story by Earl Nightingale, called “Acres of Diamonds”, from Our Changing World radio transcript: One of the most interesting Americans who lived in the 19th century was a man by the name of Russell Herman Conwell. He was born in 1843 and lived until 1925. He was a lawyer for about fifteen years until he became a clergyman. One day, a young man went to him and told him he wanted a college education but couldn't swing it financially. Dr. Conwell decided, at that moment, what his aim in lifer

Give Up Waiting For The Next Best Thing.

Winners Give Up Waiting for the Next Best Thing Sometimes the grass really looks green next door…doesn't it? How many people do you know that seem to bounce from one direction or idea to another, from one relationship to another, from one career to another, one marketing/ business plan or employee to another? Before they have really made an investment in their previous choice? Is it possible that we have become a society that is raised with such a sense of entitlement, that we expect everything to come easy?

Winners Give Up Worrying About Health Care Reform (And Other Things They Can’t Control, Like Their Brackets!)

I’ve been listening to the news on the radio a lot more the past few weeks. I, like many of you have been following the debate over this Health Care Reform Bill. I’ve listened to both “conservative” radio and NPR. I find the disparity between the interpretations of “facts” fascinating. I have also listened to numerous people passionately, vociferously, registering their opinions. One such lady had worked herself into such fervor that she admitted she hadn’t slept in three days! Why?

So What If People Don't Like You? ( Winners Give Up Trying To Please... Everyone.)

Winners Give Up Trying To Get Everybody To Like Them. Are you the type of person that everybody likes? Are you the one that always looks for ways to please your co-workers, friends, bosses or mates? But secretly complains and laments the “concessions” you have made when you get just out of earshot? Are you the manager, the parent, the friend that everybody loves but don’t challenge your people to be the best they can be? The one who doesn’t rock the boat too much? Maybe doesn’t speak up for themselves?

Living By Likes (Don't)

Living by Likes It’s funny how sometimes life sneaks up on you and catches you by surprise. I had some occasion of inspiration recently to examine the way I have been thinking, the way I have been living and the general direction of my life. It was not something I planned on doing, it just organically unfolded.

Become the best possible version of yourself.

I was golfing with Tiger Woods the other day…..no I wasn’t…I was golfing on my daughters Wii. It doesn’t matter; my score was just as bad. How many men (and women) wish they could play GOLF like Tiger? No matter how we feel about his newly revealed personal “flaws”, he is still perhaps the greatest practitioner of the sport to step onto the links. He remains the epitome of dedication to the achievement of excellence in a professional endeavor. I will never play like Tiger Woods, even at a 1000 balls a day from now until the end of time. I will never play at that level.

30 Days, 30 Ways To A New You!

30 Days 30 ways to a (new) new you! It’s that time of year again. Every year around Halloween I have the tendency to start looking backward a little more than looking forward. To start looking inward a little more than looking outward. I get a little oversensitive about me, my body, my health, the thickness of my wallet, the thickness of the stack of bills on my desk. I start to observe the people around me with a little sharper focus.r
