Have a Little Faith

Faith is one of the keys to living a life filled with peace and joy. Being connected spiritually will help you to have faith, which is believing in that which is unseen. Quantum physics explains that all possibilities exist in the quantum field (otherwise known as the future to us). Our thoughts are charged with a certain frequency which will attract the outcome that has the strongest charge to it.

Victim versus Victor

Making the Conscious Choice to Win! How many times have you blamed someone or something else for a problem in your life? We’ve all done it and we are conditioned to do this. It is a natural reaction…yet it is one that harms us in so many ways. Blaming others automatically puts you in a position of being a victim. It gives your control away and takes away your confidence and innate power.

When A Crisis Strikes…Forgiveness is the Key to Moving Forward in Your Life

Forgiveness is by far one of the most important lessons I’ve learned in my life, especially during the hardest times. Forgiveness frees your heart which in turn can free your mind. The thing that many people have a difficult time believing is that you forgive someone not for them, but for YOU! When you hold on to resentment, anger, hurt, and disappointment, it’s like you are taking a poison and expecting the other person to die. It only hurts yourself. By practicing forgiveness, you release heavy emotions, which really do hold you back, and you are able to move forward.

When A Crisis Strikes…Judgment

It is so easy to judge another person. We are conditioned to compare ourselves to others and therefore judge: are we better than them or are they better than us? What I discovered meeting hundreds of people is that we ALL have our difficult times.

Holiday Giving at its Best

As the holidays are rapidly approaching, we tend to get wrapped up in the busy-ness of the times, rushing around with all the activities, meetings, parties, shopping, and cooking. Rather than the materialistic perspective, we should be taking some time to take stock of our lives, to feel the gratitude for all the blessings we have in our lives. No matter what your circumstances are, there are always things you can be grateful for in your life. Appreciation is a way of giving thanks to our higher Source.

Determination Makes It Happen!

There is a fighter instinct in us to never give up. It is the inner strength rising up from within to deal with whatever cards we have been dealt. Determination is defined as “the act of coming to a decision or of fixing or settling a purpose”. When you have committed to some sort of purpose, you are taking action to make it happen. The Universe loves that kind of direction and will support you in many ways, even if it may not seem like that sometimes.

When A Crisis Strikes…Hope Is The Door Out of The Darkness

Hope is probably the most important factor to dealing with any difficult time. Hope is what drives us forward and gives us the energy to endure and prevail over any circumstances. When someone has lost hope, it makes a person’s life so much harder, suffering even more. Hope is the light at the end of the tunnel, the door opening to let the sunshine in. It gives us the reason to go on and to know we will get through whatever is happening now.

When A Crisis Strikes…Survive and Thrive: Be Nice to Yourself

Be kind to yourself, especially during difficult times. This is so easy to forget! Often we are our own worst enemy and critics. We need to learn to love ourselves and have patience. You must learn to listen to your needs and accept them as they are. So when a crisis strikes and you feel the need to cry or sleep, then allow that. Realize that you are doing the best you can given where you are right now.

Rise Above the Hurt: Using Compassion to Heal

Hurt people hurt people. I recently read this and it really struck a cord with me. When I read that statement and let the meaning really sink in, I felt myself being lifted to a higher level of understanding. I felt my heart open up and compassion flow through me because I realized, aren’t we all in our essence scared little children who are trying to protect ourselves? Haven’t we all been hurt in some way or another?

When A Crisis Strikes…Having a Sense of Security through Routines and Rituals

Have you ever noticed that you normally follow the same sequence of actions in the morning as you get ready for your day? You get up, get dressed, eat breakfast, brush your teeth, etc. in the same order almost every day. Why is that? This is because having routines gives you a sense of security. Routines will give your life some structure and a feeling that you are in control of something (even if in reality we have no control over anything—just our thoughts).

The Power of Joy

Joy is love and happiness put together. But what can joy do for you? It can truly transform your life! We are facing times now that doing things we simply do not like is not going to be sustainable. I think that is a big reason as to why so many people are facing big career challenges with being laid off and the unemployment rates going so high.

Life is a Miracle!

The world is an amazing place! I am in awe of all the miracles every day. One of my favorite quotes is from Albert Einstein: There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle. It’s interesting that a genius with such a scientific mind would be talking about miracles…but what is life really?

When A Crisis Strikes…What You Can Do To Survive and Thrive

Acceptance is the Key to Freedom God grant me the serenity tornaccept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. The Serenity prayer from Alcoholics Anonymous has always been one of my favorites. Being able to accept a situation helps to reduce the suffering you may experience. But it is certainly easier said than done! Acceptance doesn’t mean not taking action and working towards your goal—it means understanding that all hardships have lessons for us to learn.

When A Crisis Strikes…People Helping People

Many times we tend to focus on the differences between us—and that causes all sorts of problems. If we focused on how much we have in common, it would be easier to understand each other and have compassion. The Dalai Lama said it so well when he stated we are humans sharing an experience on this planet. We all have problems in our lives. We all have 24 hours in a day. We all can smile, laugh, cry, and get hurt. It’s all a part of this experience and that’s what makes us human. Help Others

What Is Your Working DNA?

It seems to me that everyone has a natural attraction to certain types of work, jobs, and careers. Even if people do change jobs regularly these days, it is possible to find a common thread through most job progressions if you look for it. What struck me is that perhaps we are all programmed within our cells to want to have a certain type of profession. I discussed this with Sergio, my partner in business, life, and my best sounding board. We started to see the similarities as we brainstormed the traits that we identified. We came up with three main profiles of a working DNA.

You ARE Unique and Have Special Talents!

Most people are their own worst critic, unfortunately. We have an inner dialogue with ourselves that is continually judging, criticizing, comparing, and putting down anything that you do. Sometimes we are aware of this but mostly the dialogue is running on autopilot. Often it’s the only voice we hear with us so we think it’s perfectly normal. Between when we are born up to the age of 6 or 7, we are a totally blank slate and are like a recording machine, absorbing what we hear and see from our environment.
