How’s your back-end?

One of my favorite shows is – America’s Got Talent. I really enjoy watching raw talent come up from the ranks. There’s great talent and there’s… well, let’s just say, less than great. Week after week acts are eliminated until one stands victorious as the winner. The mere fact that a singer, dancer, magician, or any act makes it to the top ten is against the odds. Even if elimination happens along the way contestants build a fan base due to all the visibility. What I find most amazing is how often the opportunity to build an online fan base is missed due to a few missed steps.

A Huge Misconception about Online Marketing

Many people hold the belief that sales and marketing has to be pushy. Nothing could be further from the truth. Sales and marketing is about making people aware of what you offer and creating the opportunity for people to make a decision based on their wants and needs. If you believe in what you do, you owe it to your market to let them know what you offer. To not do this is a disservice to your market. Primary reasons people won't succeed at marketing: • Fear of the unknow • Not knowing what to do • Not knowing who their target market is

Podcasting Is a GREAT Way to Gain Visibility

You’ve got the book. You’ve got the speech. You’ve got the expertise, but very few people know you exist. It takes more than simply having the “thing” to be successful. You also need the visibility. Years ago there wasn’t much competition online Seems like whatever an expert introduced to market was a novelty and people ate it up. It was also much easier to stand out because of the fact there were very few people vying for people’s attention.

The truth about obesity and the real cost to you

It never ceases to amaze me how much control over one’s health most people GIVE up. In reality, you have more control over your health than you may realize. Plants Rather Than Pills… How Going Plant Based is a Smart Choice

Many of the very diseases and disorders that are either preventable, even reversible, by a 100% whole food plant based diet are being exploited by big pharma, advertisers and others who would much rather profit from people not tapping into an actual solution, but rather put a band-aide over the problem with medication. If you watch television, try this out for size. Have a notepad close by and write down every time you see an ad for meds. And then notice how many side effects are listed.

Experts Who Speak on the Platform Achieve More…. Or Do They?

Have you ever wondered how two people can start a business right around the same time and one skyrockets to success while the other one struggles, barely able to make ends meet? While one is enjoying all the perks that come with high visibility the other is saying, “It’s not fair. She/he is no more intelligent, gifted or talented than me.” If you look at virtually any industry where experts are rocking it, it’s likely they are using one secret weapon that isn’t so secret. They are not hiding out AND they are eager to share their message on the platform.

Conscious eating the Plant Based Way

One of the greatest benefits of transitioning from the SAD – Standard American Diet to a intentional plant-based eating protocol is the consciousness that comes with making this type of change. Keep in mind, this is NOT about being on a diet. Plant based eating is about a way of life that goes beyond a “quick fix” diet. Plant-based eating is a lifestyle choice. We are a society obsessed with dieting. As author Lana Nelson writes, Our Obsession with Dieting is Killing Us. Conscious Eatingrnr

The Ethics of A Plant Based Diet

September 16, 2018. This is the day my life changed forever. It’s the day I chose to stop consuming animal and dairy products. Initially, it was going to be for a seven-day period. Seven days turned into two weeks. Two weeks turned into a month. A month turned into six. At this point, I don’t see myself ever going back to the way I was eating which included animal products, dairy and processed junk food.

A major insight for traditional and online professional speakers

Recently I was reviewing transcripts from a training program I facilitated with a colleague on how to become a successful professional speaker – a six figure a year speaker. I had to smile when I read our recommendations. Not only are they spot on, they hold as true today as the day we hosted the training. Some things never change. Granted, I didn’t always know the things I know about professional speaking. Actually, prior to 1994, I knew none of what I know about the profession.

There’s more to selling books than marketing alone

Are you proud of what you write? Will the message in your books make a difference to the reader? Do you KNOW your life purpose is to write? If you answered yes to these questions the next question that begs to be answered is, "Are you learning as much as you can to create book launch campaigns?" Notice I didn't ask, "Are you learning to market?"

Fear, Pain and Suffering Due to Consuming Meat

It does not take much at all to see the pain and suffering in the world today. Whether it be the anguish and fear over COVID-19, the civil unrest around the globe or the military being called in to build a chain-link fence to “protect” the White House and the current administration, there is more turbulence today than any other time in recent history. The domino effect has far reaching impact. The fear, anger and uncertainty may appear to be random, yet, when we take a deeper look, we can trace it back to various causes.

Sales - You’ve got it bass ackward

“I’ll invest in sales training as soon as I make the money to do so.” I can’t even begin to count the number of times people have said this, all the while struggling to make sales. For some reason, they believe that they are going to figure out what the problem is with their sales results when they’ve been dealing with the problem for a long time. Chances are the problem is not knowing how to have a sales conversation. When sales are slow, people give a few standard reasons: 1. Slow economy 2. This is a tough industry 3. Every Business Is a Sales and Marketing Business

No matter what your industry, who your market is, or what product you offer, your business is a sales and marketing business. Unfortunately a lot of entrepreneurs don’t understand this, and even if they do, they resist it. “I feel like I’m prostituting myself,” was the start of one conversation I had recently with a struggling energy worker. She truly believed that if she marketed her services she was somehow selling her soul to the devil. “No wonder you’re struggling!” I responded. When I told her that marketing was simply ensuring that potential clients knew she existed, she relaxed.

Blab... Fad or Fabulous?

The first I heard of Blab.im was when my buddy, Brian G. Johnson posted on Facebook he was hosting a Blab. Shortly thereafter, Joel Comm was promoting his Blab. Before I knew it, many of my friends and colleagues were Blabbing and having a great time doing so. My initial thought was, "Oh no! Not another BSO - bright shiny object." With all the new distractions on social media, I truly thought this was just one more to add to the bone yard of soon to be forgotten ways to mindlessly fill time online.

NO! You are not entitled

I love business and I love what I do. What I don’t love, and truthfully, don’t even like, are the people who really don’t get what running a successful business is all about. Sure, they may think they do, but when they are asked to do something that is inconvenient, they throw up their arms and say, “This isn’t fair. It shouldn’t be this hard.” The fact is, business is hard. And sometimes downright difficult. We applaud those who are succeeding, often saying how lucky they are. Others go on to say, “I would do anything to have what you have.”

Your Business as a Vehicle to Positive Change

Ethical bribes create trust, value and leads

If you’re like most experts, you’re looking for ways to reach more of your market in order to build trust, create value and ultimately do business. One of the best ways to do this is to give potential customers and clients a “taste” of what you do by way of samples. Someone who perfected this model is Debbie Fields. As the story goes, when she first came up with the idea for a business Debbie tried to sell her cookies. Not many people were interested. Rather than give up, she put a “sample” plate together, going door to door, offering free cookies to whomever was willing to take some.
