3 Reasons You May Be Losing Business ... Without Knowing Why

Unbeknownst to you, you may be losing business for a very simple reason. Not to your competitors, but due to your own inability to see how your actions, or lack thereof, may be negatively impacting how people view you. The fact is, many people rely on word of mouth marketing and many miss opportunities because they fail to see that “how they do anything is how they do everything.”r

Read this before offering ANY bonus gift to those who buy your products

“Buy my book and get a bunch of cool bonuses worth over $4,000!” This was a recent post in a Facebook group I belong to. I have no idea what the title of the book is, nor whether or not the bonuses have anything to do with the subject matter of the book. I was somewhat amused by the post and yet, felt a twang of “ain’t it a shame” for the new author who posted this. Obviously, some “expert” told her that if she got a bunch of people to each contribute a bonus to those who purchased the book, not only would her sales skyrocket, she would also become an Amazon.com bestselling author.r

Do you have the “wait to be inspired” syndrome?

Confession: I’m woo-woo. I admit it. Over the last nearly forty years I’ve read hundreds of spiritual books, attended enlightenment retreats, studied under amazing teachers with an incredibly high level of awareness and traveled the world in search of “enlightenment.” At age thirty I headed to India in search of deep inner-knowing, but somehow ended up on the West Bank of Israel for six months. I suppose I should have paid more attention during Geography 101 in high school, but I digress.

5,000 experts on the platform to share their message

5,000 experts on the platform in 2016! That’s my goal and my vision…to help 5,000 experts get their message out in one of the most powerful ways possible. I plan to do this in a number of ways; through webinars, teleseminars, training programs, workshops, masterminds and one-on-one mentoring. Why 5,000? Why not! The fact is, one expert can have a major impact on dozens, hundreds, thousands, even tens of thousands of people with their message. With the resources available online, such as social media, they often can reach hundreds of thousands and in some cases, millions of people.

What does your “digital footprint” say about you?

A couple of days ago I read a post on Facebook about a woman who wrote a book on a topic I have great interest in. Being that it was a third party endorsement, I was even more eager to buy the book than if the author had touted the benefits of her own book. Since there was no link in the post for me to read more about the book, I did what the majority of people would be inclined to do… I hopped over to Amazon.com. I have to admit, I was frustrated (and disappointed) I could not find the book. Worse yet, there was no trace of the author on Amazon.

Make this your most profitable year ever

With a new year upon us, now is a great time to put pen to paper and map out your coming year. Rather than kick back as the year comes to an end, this is the time to plan for a banner 2016. Rather than take a haphazard approach to what you are doing, determine what you really want to see unfold in the coming year. Granted, we can’t plan for everything, yet we can plan for a lot. As the saying goes, “Failing to plan is planning to fail.” Alan Lakein.

Is your attention span less than a goldfish?

My emails aren’t getting opened… much less read! This is an all too common issue for anyone trying to promote and sell via email marketing. People just aren’t responding to email marketing the way they once did. There are many reasons for the lackluster results… • People are on overload with the amount of information vying for their attention.r • There are many more distractions than in the past.r • People’s brains have literally been rewired due to technology.r • Email deliverability is much less reliable than in the past.

Your success is directly proportionate to your ability to be incredibly honest with yourself

A few weeks ago I completed my first ever marathon. Crossing the finish line at the 26.2 mile marker was my gift to myself for my 61st birthday. It’s likely I hold the distinction of being the last to cross the finish line for the 2015 Eugene Marathon and yet, as many of my friends and colleagues have said, “You finished.” The challenge with believing finishing is as good as it gets is that I’m fooling myself to believe I did my best. Looking back I know I could have done a heck of a lot better. Here’s why…

Productive…or not… it’s your choice

Seems lots of people are “doing it differently” in 2015. No resolutions, no goals, no pen to paper with “this is what I am going to do.” There’s a trend underfoot of simply going with the flow. Not that there is anything wrong with going with the flow… people have been doing this since the beginning of time. But there is something to be said with writing down what we want.

An incredible way to grow your business

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve hosted open Q&A calls where I hop on the phone and those who join in can ask me as many questions as they have in the time allotted. I’ve been offering these with no opt-in and no replay. It’s amazing how many people are showing up live. I suppose it’s because I am emphasizing no replay. The calls are being very well received. Lots of great questions and interaction. Yesterday’s call was one of the best.r

Self-Published Books Can Create Multiple Streams of Revenue - But Readers Need to Know they Exist

In the past becoming a self-published author was a very different experience from what it is today. There were many obstacles that are no longer limitations for today’s self-published authors. Not only was the process much more cumbersome than it is today, there was no such thing as Kindle, Nook or Apple iBooks. An author was limited to publishing physical books. Add to that minimum purchase requirements with offset printing of thousands of books, and often it was a recipe for disaster for many aspiring authors.

Ready to Create Information Products?

I just finished interviewing an expert who works with experts who want to dominate their market. I asked Greg, “What’s one thing you can recommend to any entrepreneur who wants to build their business?” “When you’re an expert, do all you can to gain celebrity status within your market,” he replied. “Okay. That’s great, but how does an expert do that?” I prodded. “By creating signature products and getting lots of media, both traditional and online, as possible,” he calmly responded.r

Getting Published has Few Barriers to Entry

Whatever your perspective, your opinion or your belief, the Internet provides a platform to express it. Barriers to entry for getting your material published is practically nonexistent. The great news is this: the minute you post something, your writing, video or audio file is published. The bad news is this: the minute you post something, your writing, video or audio file is published. Good or bad, your information can be published with very limited effort.

Turning our situations from frightening to enlightening

No matter where you turn, fear seems to be a topic of conversation for so many. Turn on the news, read the newspaper, watch television…it’s there. Truth be told, there is a major shift underway. This shift can be frightening to some, enlightening for others. The fear comes from the outward evidence that life is falling apart. The fear comes from the uncertainty of personal and professional finances. The fear comes from the unknown. Yet, isn’t it true that each day is an unknown? With this uncertainty we can live in the space of fear or one we can choose to live in the space of trust.

To decide or not decide - This is the Law of Attraction

Lately I have been reading and hearing a great deal on the power of decision and the power of indecision. Some people would argue that indecision carries no power with it. Actually, indecision carries a lot of power. The power to immobilize. The power to diminish confidence. The power enhance the "what if" fear so many subscribe to. The power of letting our life pass before our very eyes. Indecision can be something as simple as turning to the person next to you in a restaurant to find out what they are ordering before you make your choice.

The Relocation Market Could Be a Goldmine for Your Business

The quiet voice speaks loudly - when you listen

Have you ever wondered how important that little voice inside is? The one that seems to give great guidance and insights...when we listen. Sure, there is the voice that tells us things are terrible. The one that creates doubt, fear, indecision and uncertainty. It seems lots of people are choosing to listen to this voice. I call it the ugly voice. The voice I am referring to is the quiet voice. The one when we listen to gives us the insights we absolutely benefit from. It is often so quiet we don't hear. That is until we get very still, very quiet ourselves.

The Only Option is to Succeed

With the end of the year fast approaching, now is a great time to take stock of 2004. It is likely that your company set specific goals at the beginning of the year. As you review the past year, the question that must be asked is, "Have I achieved my goals? Has my company achieved the outcomes we set?" If your answer is yes, congratulations! If not, what stopped you? There are always unplanned occurrences that prevent us from accomplishing all the goals we set. However, our roadblocks are often as simple as getting caught up in the day to day activities of running our business.

The Old Model vs. The New Model of Online Book Marketing

Recently I surveyed a group of several hundred authors. "What's your greatest challenge with marketing and selling your book(s)?" was the only question asked. The results were as follows: 38% knowledge 33% time 17% money 7% fear 5% other It’s not surprising knowledge ranked the highest with time a close second. When most authors dream of their book being read by people around the globe, they often forget one small detail; they have to do most of the marketing.

Teleseminars - Using Your Sig File in Forums For Visibility

More every day experts are finding forums a great way to promote their teleseminars. I am a proponent of participating in only a few forums you can post to on a regular basis rather than dozens you have no time for. A great way to increase your telseminar visibility is to effectively use your sig file (SF or signature file) at the end of your postings. Depending on the type of forum, you may be able to use the same SF for each one or you may want to write unique sig files for each.

Teleseminars - Optimize Your Conversion Rate From Visitors to Opt Ins

When it comes to promoting a teleseminar this is usually done by getting potential buyers to a landing page. The goal for most landing pages is to convert lookers into either subscribers or buyers. The fact is, most people who "land" on one of your pages leave very quickly. The reasons for this vary; no clear message, no benefits listed, too many fonts, poorly positioned opt in box, no clear call to action and very unprofessional look. To know what is happening with page visitors review your website stats. You do this with your web log files. Here's how it's likely to break down.

Teleseminars - One of the Most Important Forum Marketing Tips

Without a doubt, forums are a great way to promote teleseminars. When you belong to a handful of forums that are very targeted and consistent with your market with daily posting you can gain some great visibility. However, it goes beyond simply posting as a way to promote your event. The number one rule for posts that are being used as a covert marketing strategy is to add very high value with your input. Your posts should not be blatant advertisements unless that is the format of the forum (which is rare).

A huge part of your success with teleseminars is to create great call content. This should not to be taken lightly. Regardless of whether you offer a free or fee event is irrelevant. The quality of your content, in both free and fee teleseminars, is essential to building a loyal customer/client base. You need to develop extremely valuable content without cramming too much into one session. It's easy to overload your listeners. Surefire ways for articles to build your online position

Something I specialize in is teaching clients and prospective clients how to gain visibility and credibility on the Internet by way of no-cost and low cost strategies. When done right the visibility can lead to increased revenues. One of the most effective methods to accomplish this is through online distribution of articles specific to one’s market. At the end of the article is an offer for a high value information product such as an eBook, white paper, report or tips list. There is no cost or obligation to download the information product other than leaving a name and email address.

Most online job and business opportunities are bogus!

"Currently there's a 54-to-1 scam ratio among work-at-home job leads on the Internet," said Staffcentrix co-founder, Christine Durst, who screens up to 5,000 online job offers every week and rates them on her Web site. "That means that for every 55 [work-at-home] job leads that you find on the Internet, 54 of them are going to be outright scams or downright suspicious," warns Durst.

Money comes to you when you do this one thing!

"Money comes to your when you find a solution for your client's problems. The bigger the problem, the more money you will attract. It's as simple as that," Stephen Pierce. Think about the last product or service you purchased because you had a problem. It is likely you were willing to pay more if you believed that the purchase would solve your problem in a timely fashion. A great example for me is with our dog Aries. We have lots of pets and love each and every one of them. Our four legged companions bring great joy to us.

Miss This in Your Marketing and You May Destroy Your Business!

It never ceases to amaze me when I hear about or experience a company that forgets the basics of Marketing 101. Lots of companies use all the latest and greatest marketing strategies to attract business, yet forget one of the most effective forms of marketing; stellar customer service. That may be fine for an average business, selling an average product or service, to people who don’t care about anything but the cheapest price and the greatest bargain.
