If you are not feeling particularly fulfilled in your relationship with money, it’s time for you to see if you have run into some fear of intimacy issues in that area of your life.
I recently learned about a young Korean boy who found his way to Korea’s Got Talent. He’d been on his own since he was 5, sleeping in public restrooms, selling gum and candy on the side of the road to get by. But he was inspired one day by a singer in a nightclub whom he said sang so “sincerely,” and it touched off a yearning in the young man to sing. In its origin and its true action it belongs to the Divine.” Sri Aurobindo When you listen to CNN these days, to what reporters are finding as they interview Americans from all over the country---the same theme comes up time after time---jobs, the economy—the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. It is no wonder, especially when you realize how basic having enough money is to everything.
One of the greatest qualities for anyone to cultivate is the quality of being resilient. I think this is especially true for someone in business for themselves. The dictionary says resilience is: capable of withstanding shock without permanent deformation or rupture, tending to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change. Another way of saying this is really a way to speak of success.

The fear and angst around money these days is palpable, and quite frankly, I am tired of hearing people complain about the economy. I am not at all in denial about the downtu and all the unemployment and I am not going to bash the Occupy Wall Street movement. They have their place in the grand scheme of things. I just don’t want to be part of the “Resistance.” I prefer to put my energy into co-creating a new way of living and working in the world.
You have a big dream in your heart to get your message out to many people, and are terrified of the exposure, so you keep yourself a well-hidden secret, all the while knowing you could do more. This is a far too common situation for sensitive and spiritually-minded people, for many reasons, not the least of which is the fact that the fear of being exposed and even burned (literally and figuratively) lives in our DNA as powerful women!
If you really want a soul-inspired business, you must make time for inspiration a priority in your life. It can be gardening or riding a motorcycle, but you must make those things that feed your body/mind/soul a constant priority. This all has to do with your bigger WHY. You must feel and feed the WHY, the DREAM, or what I call the SOUL of your business. That means you must take really good care of yourself.
One of the biggest pitfalls for many entrepreneurs is that they go on automatic pilot to get it all done, because there is so much to do to keep all the balls in the air. Not only do they get exhausted, but end up losing touch with the joy and passion that called them to do what they are doing in the first place. My mentor often says, “Who you are in your life is who you are in your business.” I have found that to be so true, and why it is so important to have some tools to finally shift the stuck places.

..and if you let go sometimes, you might just get what you need. Technology glitches, miscommunications, people not following through, crappy weather…….the list goes on and on if you are an adult in our society. So much is expected of us, and the level of complexity is astounding simply to survive. If you are a business owner as well, there is the added responsibility to have to stay “on top of” everything, if you are to thrive.
How’s that for a catchy title that may not project the “image” I hope to portray? Frankly, I am tired of projecting images. That’s what actors and actresses do—projecting someone else’s life. I want to be the star in my own life, and not worry about an academy award. I want to speak the truth, and not worry if it leads someone to work with me or buy a product from me. I want to stop marketing in the old way!!!
When you are aligned with your infinite soul, you have already arrived at your destiny, and you are sovereign in your own life. Independent of circumstance—the rich man can be the poorest person in the land, if he is not at peace in his heart, while the slave can be the wealthiest, if he nurtures the spirit of freedom and abundance in the place that cannot be imprisoned by another. What makes the difference? One holds the vision inside and lives it in every thought and deed, while the other is striving for that which can never be attained through money or fame.
