Often times, the stress of life and exposure to toxins in the environment can stress our lymphatic system. As many of you know, I am taking a brief break from the healing work with others to rest and recover my voice. As the gray clouds hovered over the past few says, I reflected on the sweetness of this time of the year. The change of the calendar year brings new resolutions and hope, with energy to build in new directions. At the same time, the change of the energy year still awaits us on Feb. 3, 2011. So, it is a time to take care of loose ends, cleanse, renew and prepare for a new energy in our bodies, minds and spirits.
Heat comes in many forms, not just the weather. It can represent struggle, inflammation and illness (particularly cancer). Visualize a large ice cube at the top of your head melting downward and washing away all tension, stress, pain and struggle as the coolness flows to your toes. Use this visualization every hour for one to three minutes today and notice what happens to your energy and perceptions. Often times, the conscious choice to shift our energetic states creates deeper states of peacefulness and acceptance in our lives.
During stressful times, it is important to: Eat in a balanced way. To gain most energy, one should eat within 30 minutes to an hour of rising. That first meal should be a high protein meal with healthy carbs that digest slowly as opposed to a high sugar meal with low protein and lots of caffeine. Examples of this kind of meal is a bowl of lentils with a lean source of protein such as chicken, scrambled egg whites, and fresh vegetables.
