How Difficult is Grief

"How difficult is grief recovery?" you may ask. As difficult as climbing a mountain perhaps, or crossing a stormy sea? These are events to remember, aren't they? Well, for certain they are. Such events are quite dramatic, as is the case with Grief, which takes us out of ourselves and tosses us ...

Extracted from "Parables for a Modern Age") All is not lost, my fellow humans, for I am of the Divine and I wish to inform you that there is a great plan afoot and much to rejoice about. Do not fear for God is near, nearer than you may realize. Let there be no more doubt about this. For I ...

Jou aling and Ascension

Jou aling for Ascension is about empowerment through self-awareness. It is a process by which you get your needs met for emotional and spiritual cleansing. Jou aling removes the cobwebs from your thinking processes by having you record the ideas, thoughts and emotions that you currently find distracting. This process is always about balance. Jou aling gives you access to your inner thoughts and feelings and removes them from the cluttered storehouse of your unconscious.

Creativity - Getting the Juices Flowing

When you reach inside yourself, what do you find? A storehouse of creativity that’s what. “Is that so?” you say. "Well, my creativity has gone AWOL, I can’t find it anywhere. I’m lost without it. What do I do?" I hear you. It’s a hard road to travel, getting ...

Preparing for Ascension 2012

We are witnessing events of great magnitude on the Earth right now. Very recently we saw the latest in terms of catastrophe and suffering as we witnessed the collapse of cities and towns in Haiti. A small island nation has been rocked by an earthquake and has succumbed to the forces of the Earth's internal movements. Our friends from the ethereal advise that such movements have only just begun.

Passion and Purpose

Who are we, standing here on this planet, looking for a place to be? Are we the “forgotten ones” from a time gone by, a piece of pre-history perhaps, that lets itself unfold through the pages of time? Are we here all alone, or are we part of something bigger, larger perhaps than we ...

Eastern vs Western Spiritual Practices

Personally, I am tired of seeing Westerners adopting an Eastern stance for Personal Growth and Connecting with Spirit. This comes across to me as an unnecessary rejection of Western Practices and their ability to bring us to Source. I’ve been a Psychologist for almost 30 years now and my days as a therapist led me through many avenues that allowed Spiritual connection and heart felt sustenance to come through. I fear that all this Eastern emphasis, with its unique language and descriptions of events, is just another simplified religion cast in the form of a New Age approach.

Suicide Grief

Death due to suicide is probably the most complex grieving experience we ever have to deal with. When a loved one commits suicide we are left wondering Why? Over and over that simple question just keeps coming up – Why? Why would someone we love do that to themselves? What was going on in their mind that this was their only way out? Did I miss something in their behavior that could have warned me of this possibility? I feel lost and confused, and maybe even guilty. I cannot

Relationship Grief

Breaking up with your lover, partner or spouse is a major event in your life. The consequences are not much different than losing a loved one through death. A relationship breakup is a death of sorts, the death of possibilities, a future together and plans that were spun around during your better days together. Feelings of loss, sadness and grief are common to the experience. What you go through is a period of mou ing and bereavement over the death of possibilities. The “Us”

Grieving a Parent

Losing a parent is something we all have to face at some point in our lives. At a young age this is particularly difficult, so we rely on adults to show us how to grieve. Sadly, most adults are poor models of the grieving process as a whole. When we lose a parent in our adult years we are facing a changing of the guard so to speak. The older generation is leaving which leaves us without a buffer to our own eventual demise. We may have just lost our last surviving parent, or

Grieving a Spouse

Losing a spouse is a devastating experience. Our friend, our partner, our soul mate is now gone and we are lost. It feels as if a part of us has died as well. In my practice, helping individuals deal with the loss of their partner was a common occurrence. Young or old, surviving spouses had an equally difficult time adjusting to this reality. Older couples had usually talked about losing one another and had some inkling of how this would affect them. Younger individuals were

Grieving a Child

Losing a child is one of life's biggest tragedies. All that promise, all those hopes, all those possibilities for a bright and successful future disappear in an instant. Whether you've lost a young child or a young adult child, the feeling of loss cuts deep. We are simply not programmed to deal with the death of a child. We accept the loss of parents and grandparents as inevitable. But losing a child, that's never something we expect to deal with. We bring children into the
