Being Present in the Moment to Heal the Pain of the Past

Emotional pain from the past can lodge in the body and become physical pain in the present. If you ignore the emotional pain, you are basically ignoring the root cause of the physical pain, and may find yourself remaining in physical discomfort. This is a difficult concept for many of us to grasp—the connection between emotional stress and physical illness.

How Do I Heal From Guilt?

This is such an excellent question. Guilt is at the core of many illnesses. Its partner is regret. As long as we are living in emotional pain rooted in the past, we are going to have a difficult time healing in the present. Guilt is anger with yourself for some choice you have made. The cells of the body can harbor the energy of guilt inside of them and when they do, your body inflames and congests in response. In fact, you may find that you heal, only to have a recurrence of a condition. Guilt doesn’t let us off the hook for very long and your physical symptoms may be reflecting that.

Prayer, Depression and Healing

Winter can be such a challenging time when it comes to depression. The days are shorter, in the US more people die in winter than in warmer seasons, and grey skies can dampen your spirits. Of course, physical illness, stress, emotional turmoil, and abusive experiences from our past or present all contribute. And if you are an empath you may have bouts of depression for reasons that may be difficult to trace. I spent many years being depressed, and recently, with the loss of a few people in my life, I found myself feeling the heavy feelings of depression once again.

Experiencing Healing Peace This Holiday Season

Do you ever feel as though you have entered rat-race season starting about the end of November? We can become so caught in up in what we think we should be doing for the holidays that we lose track of how we really want to be feeling. We send holiday cards that wish each other peace and we sing beautiful songs about peace—all the while feeling stressed and cranky. And as many of us now know, stress is related to hundreds of today's illnesses. So being stressed just might become the cause of an illness this holiday season or exacerbate an existing condition.

Metaphysical Meaning Behind Osteoarthritis

The Mayo clinic offers us this definition for osteoarthritis: "Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis, affecting millions of people around the world. Often called wear-and-tear arthritis, osteoarthritis occurs when the protective cartilage on the ends of your bones wears down over time. While osteoarthritis can damage any joint in your body, the disorder most commonly affects joints in your hands, neck, lower back, knees and hips.

Health Challenges Aren't Meant to Limit Us

Have you seen the movie, The Snow Walker? I know I don’t usually recommend films, but this one that I watched for the first time the other night, is worth telling you about if you are seriously dedicated to your self-healing. Now, I’m not going to give away the plot, but I am going to tell you that it is not a film about physical healing. However, it gives you a lot to consider when it comes to understanding what overwhelming challenges do for your spiritual and emotional evolution.

Looking for Miracles Is Different Than Believing In Them

When someone comes to me looking for an instantaneous healing, I know we are not likely to make very much progress. Are you wondering why? Doesn’t it seem to make sense that the more the person is able to believe in instant healing, the more likely it is going to happen? Indeed, I love to offer healing sounds and support to people that believe in the power of energetic healing because we are most likely to get results. However, there is a difference between believing in miracles and looking for them. Someone looking for miracles is usually desperately hunting to find a solution.

Discover The Natural Healing Gift of Negative Ions

To date, I haven’t met anyone that has told me they can see them, taste them or smell negative ions. Yet, in nature, they are there all around us. Visit the ocean and you are in the company of negative ions. Visit the mountains, splash around in a stream, or take a walk in the woods and you’ll be breathing in negative ions. How do you know when you are in the presence of negative ions? You feel better. You relax and you feel more at ease with yourself and with life. That’s because negative ions increase the levels of serotonin in your body.

Use Your Emotions to Help You Heal

Emotions tell stories about what is really going on. You’ve just got to be willing to sit with the uncomfortable ones long enough and with enough self-honesty to discover what they are telling you about what you need for your healing. This is going to make a lot more sense if I share a couple of poignant stories from my life. Years ago, I was in loving relationship where my sexual energy started to fully awaken and blossom.

From Bliss in Meditation to Anger in Life

Have you had the experience of leaving a luscious other-worldly experience only to come back to this reality feeling cranky? I’ve caught myself more than once thinking to myself, “That’s real spiritual, Misa! Open your heart wide in compassion during your meditation and then, in this world, get critical with someone when they are trying to do their best.” Oddly, these instances seem to occur in proximity to the end of my meditations and dreams.

What If I Chose It?

This can be one of the most revealing questions to ask yourself in regard to your self-healing journey: What does it mean, if I chose this illness or condition? It leads to the next question: If I did choose this, what was I hoping to discover or gain?

Energy Healing and Cell Renewal

I was recently asked a question regarding how to encourage cell renewal for a specific organ. Here is the wonder of energy healing: you don’t have to understand the organ or have a detailed intention in order to heal it energetically. Some years ago my doctor told me one of my fallopian tubes was collapsed. She understood I was an energy healer and was supportive when I told her I wanted to do some energy work before doing any further tests that might lead to surgery.

Life Support and Comas

One of the most challenging times in our lives occurs when someone we love is in a coma and on life support. It can be excruciating if you are the one that needs to make the decision, or even observe the decision being made, regarding when to remove the life support.

The Difference Between Self-Responsibility and Self-Blame in Healing

Have you ever found yourself assuming responsibility for the reality you are experiencing, only to realize that instead of blaming someone else for how you are feeling, you are now blaming yourself? Shifting blame isn’t really assuming responsibility, but if you are like most of us, you have probably done it at some time. As you know, if you have read chapter five of my book, blame is a form of self-punishment that prevents healing from occurring. Blame perpetuates anger because we are looking for a way out of the helplessness that we are feeling. http://www.RootOfAllHealing.com

What if Being Sick Is God’s Will or Part of My Karma?

A few readers have asked me this question in each their own way, according to their personal spiritual beliefs. This is a very important question because our beliefs significantly affect our approaches to health and even the degree to which we heal. Beliefs like this are so easy to accept as our reality, and yet so limiting to our healing process. Discover more beliefs that can limit your healing at: http://misahopkins.com/beating-the-odds-free-special-report/rnr

Nature’s Rhythms and Healing

One of the great ironies in life is that in order to accelerate your healing, you have to slow down. —Misa Hopkins, The Root of All Healing In our crazy, busy lives driving to the office, working in fast-paced environments, watching hours of television, and keeping up a rather intense pace until it’s time to go to bed, we are missing something vital to our health—connection with nature.

Intuitive Perspective About Arteries, the Heart and Self-Healing

One of our readers asked about healing in regard to arteries of the hearts, so I took this conce into meditation. I received a perspective about the spiritual and emotional nature of arteries that I thought many of us might appreciate. It is a little bit different than what Louise Hay so beautifully offers to us, but it is indeed in alignment with her perspective.

Sound Healing—Releasing Stressed Muscles

Muscular pains or tension have sounds. When you know the physical pain is associated with emotional pain, the physical pain can release when you honor the physical stress with sound. This can be very challenging for those of us taught to only make “nice” sounds. But discomfort is not particularly nice, and like most things in life, it likes to be recognized as it is, without being forced to change.

Holiday Stress And Self-Healing

Have you started yet? You know, have you started the process of telling yourself that this holiday season you can handle more than you really can? I used to be so good at doing that. I thought I was the holiday super woman so I’d be running around doing all kinds of activities, eating all kinds of foods that weren’t good for me, and staying up late getting ready for various festivities with family and friends. I spent so much time getting ready—including buying and wrapping “presents,” it was a wonder I ever actually enjoyed the season with my loved ones.

Why Gratitude in Healing Makes a Difference

When you are really feeling poorly, it is difficult to feel grateful, and yet it is one of the most important times to count your blessings. Why? When you allow the pain to cause you to be worried or upset, your energy field closes down and it is difficult for any treatment to get through your fears. Gratitude opens the heart and when the heart is open, healing energy is most effective.

Creativity—A Doorway to Intuition

If you aren’t certain about where to begin accessing your intuition or you want to be able to tap into more of your intuitive guidance, one of the best and most enjoyable ways to access you inner wisdom is through creative expression. Why? Inspiration and intuition are kissing cousins. Ask a gardener why she planted certain flowers together in a bed, and she’ll tell you about how they are compatible, of appropriate heights and widths and then she’ll end up telling you she just thought they would look good together.
