Joys and Embarrassments of Motherhood
Mothers are strange. They can get up multiple times during the night to feed, burp, change, and then feed, burp, change many more times. Sometimes that wee one will cry and not be quieted for hours on end. Finally, about the time the mother gets into a deep sleep, morning comes and happy sounds of blubbering and jabbering come from the nursery. That is Mother’s signal to get up and start another day. When she goes in, the baby smiles and reaches up for a hug from Mommy. That sweet gesture melts away the mother’s frustration, if not the fatigue.r

ABC's of a Happy Marriage
ABC’s of a Happy Marriage By Barbara Eubanks “Love: a temporary insanity, curable by marriage,” once quipped Ambrose Bierce. If love and marriage go together like a horse and carriage, why do so may end in divorce? Even some couples who stay together seem to do nothing but make each other miserable. This was emphasized when a pastor friend rushed to the hospital to minister to a lady who had been admitted for emergency surgery.

Marriage Enrichment In The Mountains
As fall approaches, my mind turns to traveling to the mountains. Although we have more beauty in our own state, than our eyes and minds could ever completely take in, there is something special about taking a trip in autumn. The Smoky Mountains in Tennessee still reign as one of my favorite ...

Prayers Prayed; Prayers Answered
At the onset of a new year, many Christians resolve to draw closer to God. Some commit to read their bibles more, some pledge they will attend church more regularly, while others determine to spend more time in prayer. Even though God knows our every thought, He does like for us to communicate our desires to Him. Some people pray without expecting immediate results, while others have an unfaltering faith.

How to get started
Fifty Years - That Long?
Marriage - now that's a state that is simple to enter but complex to stay in. At age fifteen when I married the love of my young life, marriage was an idyllic state of romance and contentment - or so I thought. Little did I realize marriage required work, determination, diligence, compromise, and self-sacrificing love.
With God's help I learned. From a shallow understanding of what love and marriage is all about, my husband Steve and I have grown together to a true comprehension of what love is - one that far outshines Hollywood's version. Enjoying the good times and enduring the bad, our union has grown day by day. That knot now is so tight and firm, not even death could break it.
Steve and I celebrated our fiftieth wedding anniversary June 19th - that's the golden one, you know. A friend commented, "I can't believe you two have been married half a century."
I replied, "Don't say it that way; that sounds like such a long time. We must be very old." But when you add fifteen and fifty, it's only sixty-five, so I'm really not that old; I just have a lot of miles on me.
I don't have any idea how much longer God will allow us to stay on this Earth together, but I'd like to sign on for another fifty and keep growing and learning and loving.
