***Breakdown to Breakthrough in Your Career
You're on the way to a job interview and you're already late because you couldn't find your car keys and you found a mark on your suit that you tried to clean off but made worse. You get on the freeway and suddenly you get a flat tire. You've had a breakdown. You can't get to the interview on time. And you know that the cardinal rules of interviews is to get there on time. You have three choices: change the tire - and get filthy dirty, call AAA and hope they come fast or sit down and cry.

*** Resumes: A Waste of Time?
It is well known that 80% of jobs are not advertised yet job hunters still focus on the 20% that are. For the jobs that aren’t advertised – that is, aren’t on job sites, in the papers or posted with recruiters, you need to network – that is, make contacts that can get you in front of the ...

***Is it too late to get seasonal work for this year?
Getting a seasonal job is not only a good way of making some extra cash, but it’s also a great way to change your career. Too late or not? But is it too late to find a job for the holidays? You may be saying, “Hey, the holidays are here. We just had turkey day and I’m not going to get a job now.” And you know what? That’s reasonable. Companies were hiring in mail delivery, retail and hospitality but with the recessionary tough times they may have filled their spots. Or not!

My Philosophy
Over twenty years I have coached people on finding new jobs, working on their resumes, helping with their networking strategy and practicing interviewing. I know that successful career change and job hunting is about using both your head and your heart. It is not only using your head to research an employer it is also using your heart to attract the right employer. With my clients I use a wholistic approach to career change.

My Beliefs
I got my very first job even though I broke the cardinal rule of being on time to an interview by showing up two hours late. A coaching client who wanted a job in the entertainment industry and who had no experience ended up working successfully for Disney with virtually no networking. And a woman I worked with, who should be mega, and who had masses of industry knowledge, a multitude of contacts and an MBA ended up with a temp job making minimum wage. Why were some people breaking the career rules and winning and why were even more following them and not getting their perfect job or even any job? So why were our common beliefs about finding a job being turned upside down? What was going on? As I began to study more, and as I studied Spiritual Psychology, I saw how we had the power to create great job situations or blow them. We could work on a perfect resume only to be rejected or send in one with typos and still get the job. I began to realize as I worked with my clients that who they were and their own psyche was critical to getting the right career. And I also saw that I could help to break through their blocks, reduce issues and heal old wounds so that they could get the job of their dreams. I saw that there is an old way of getting a job and a new way. More simply it was not only the outside – resumes etc. – that mattered but also the inside – what was your intention, what were you attracting, what were the voices in your head telling you! This is what I believe and this is how I help my clients be fulfilled in every way.
