Biography
Debbie Simon, LCSW-R, received her masters degree (MSW) in clinical social work at Simmons School of Social Work in 1986. She has anrnundergraduate degree in pscyhology from Boston University. She isrntrained in Gestalt Psychotherapy.In the late 70s she attended SUNY Stony Brook and specialized inrnbehavioral psychology and the treatment of autism, assisting with multiple research projects at the university and working with autistic children.
In the early 80s, while working as a staff assitant at Harvard Law School she completed four semesters of forensic psychology in the continuing education department.
She has worked in major teaching hospitals from 1984 - 2006, includingr Boston's Beth Israel Hospital, NYU Medical Center, Lutheran Medicalr Center in Brooklyn and Columbia NY/Presbyterian. She is highly experienced in crisis intervention and family work. She coverd the ER, ICUs, HIV clinics, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Oncology and Ob/Gyn. She worked both as a line social worker and a manager, supervising social workers at the graduate level as well as educating new MSWs. She has also worked at Calvary Hospice and in home care with geriatric populations.

She has also written articles on parenting and her article on "Transitions to Motherhood" was nominated for the Parenting Publications of Americar Editorial Award of Excellence in 2008.
Debbie lived in Tokyo, Japan from 1989-1992 and has two sons. One son is a junior at Princeton University and the other is completing high school this year.
Debbie Simon is a NY state licensed psychotherapist and a Life Coach practicing in NYC.

How to get started
Since 2006 I have been putting together all of my professional, personal and spiritual experiences to offer my skills, talents and most of all, experience to others. I believe that we are here on this planet to learn to be coworkers with God or Spirit. Our purpose is service and to learn more about love. In this process we become more loving individuals and go through purification. Purification is a difficult process and is only for the brave and most courageous.
