Hi. Thank you for stopping by to learn about me. I'm Dr. LeslieBeth Wish, but everyone calls me LB. I'm a licensed clinical psychotherapist, LCSW #7132FL, and founder of www.lovevictory.com, My lifelong expertise is in empowering your emotional bravery, life and relationship smarts, and trust in your intuition to make wise decisions in love, life, family, work, happiness, and success!
YOU COULD BE A FEATURED WRITER IN MY NEXT BOOK ABOUT INTUITION! Do you have a story about a time when you listened--or did NOT listen to your intuition? I, and my colleague, want to hear from you. To submit your story please go to my website www.lovevictory.com, and click on the upper tab Intuition Stories. And don't worry if you don't write well! We can edit your story and help you!
I am honored that the National Association of Social Workers has named me as One of the Top Fifty who has contributed to the field. My pioneering work with women's issues in has also earned me the privilege of being the subject of biographical entry in many of the Marquis Who's Who publications. It's a bit uncomfortable mentioning these things, but I want you to know that you can trust my advice--and my genuine care.
For a long time I've been concerned about why today's career-minded women are smart about work but not love. I didn't have a full enough answer, and when something nags at me, I do research. So, for five years, I studied more than 1,200 women from all over the world. My findings led to two research-based, self-help books: Smart Relationships, published by New Horizon Press; and the companion relationship cartoon book, The Love Adventures of Almost Smart Cookie.
These books addresses key issues such as: Why can't I recover from break ups and divorce? Why does my man seem so different now from how he was in the beginning? Why am I so anxious? What's wrong with "swearing off" men? What does my family childhood really have to do with my love life? Why can't I trust my intuition?
The companion cartoon book, "The Love Adventures of Almost Smart Cookie," is a collection of 52 cartoons, each one based on a key finding, and includes three tips. As readers follow the love missteps of single attorney Cookie, they learn about their own. The idea came to me in a whoosh--at three o'clock in the morning. I knew I had to find a better way to disarm the verbally defensive skills of the women in my study. That night I bolted upright in bed and said: "I have to reach them visually. I have to invent a cartoon character." And so Cookie was born.
For www.qualityhealth.com, a Top Ten Health site and affiliate with WebMD,I serve on the Medical Advisory Board. I write a regular feature for FEMME ROUGE Magazine for Women. I've been frequently cited in national publications such as "USA Today," "More Magazine," "US Weekly," "The Washington Post," "For the Bride," "Woman's Day" and websites such as www.cnn.com and www.msn.match.com. I also actually like giving engaging talks for non-profit, corporate and university organizations. I hope you can see that I offer research-based relationship advice that you can trust, and help you can use.
My previous work at the New England Institute of Family Relations, the first sexual dysfunction clinic in New England, and my first research-based book, Incest, Work and Women, earned me national recognition and honor as a pioneer in sexual dysfunction and women's love and career issues. The book uncovered the connection between childhood abuse and women's career problems. That research sparked her next ground-breaking project (described above) on the relationship problems of successful women women, age 20-40+.

Favorite Quotes & Thoughts from Dr. LeslieBeth (LB) Wish
For over thirty years, I have worked to help women and families. It is never too late to make changes. Your past does not have to run--or ruin--your life. Respect the power that your family had--or still has--over you, but remember that most of their hurtful behavior, words and attitudes are more about THEM and their problems than they are about you. You can re-train your thoughts, feelings, actions and brain-wiring so you can be happy, productive and wise. All it takes is some emotional bravery and a belief that you deserve good things. Set your goal in life to be your best self. I was raised by an African-American woman named Daisy. She was a wise woman, and amongst the many things she taught me was this advice: "Act with beauty." I didn't fully understand the power of her wisdom. I know now that she was teaching me that when you like you, then you automatcially infuse all your behavior to self and others with beauty, love and genuine care.
