Outdoors , age nine
On a warm sunny summer day back in 1954, as I recall. I was about nine years old and was very bored that day. There was no one around to play with and my mom and dad were busy so I decided to go for a walk. There was a place about two miles away from my home that was owned by the Catholic Church. They ran a home there to care for people who were invalids. Maybe the people there were veterans from World War II or something. I really never did know for sure what they did there. It was a property where you just weren’t supposed to go.

Could it be that there is a better way to educate our youth?
I'll Tell You a Story ! Young people come to the mountain to meet a story teller called Noodin at the Hikers Cabin and to hear a story. Twelve high school youth with two teachers knock on the door. The door opens and each person files into the large open room. As they enter they are looking around with a caution and natural curiosity. They see strange items laid out on the table and around the fireplace. They have entered a different world!

I Like My Books! The Technology Wave
I like books to read and to have on my shelf. Well, I live outdoors most of the time so I have very limited shelving. Actually, most of my books are in boxes and, hopefully, stored in a dry place. When my home became a cabin in a state park a few years ago I no longer had a place to fill with accumulations we all so love to gather. It became obvious that I needed to unload a lot of stuff.

Golden Eagle ~ What You Say!
People ask me how I know when an animal is one of my helpers. Golden Eagle is one of my helpers! My answer is simple. When one becomes aware of these things then an animal will show itself in a way that you will know. Believe me, you will know! My Native brother, Nish, and I were traveling through Wisconsin one time a few years back. We had just come from Hannahville Reservation where we visited my teacher and Nish’s dad. Nish got a call from his sister, Neveena. Never a dull moment on the Rez!

Woodpecker Came to Visit!
Most people probably don’t talk to animals! Or do they? I guess one turning point from reality is when the animals start talking to the people. Wasn’t that something taken away by Spirit a long time ago because of mans lack of respect for the animals? Most Spirit teachings say that. Maybe it is something to be gifted back at some point. I don’t know!
