The Art of Receiving

I have been a true blue co-dependent for most of my adult life. Reading Melody Beatty’s book, Co-dependent No More, was a painful experience, I could only read one chapter at a time, it hurt too much! Everything I read in it struck a cord with me, everything except the alcohol part. Receiving is not about asking people for what you want; rather it is accepting what is given to you, when you are offered what truly would make your heart sing. It is not about accepting whatever is given to you, just because it was offered.
