Dr. Kathleen (Kathy) P. King is a certified professional life coach, tenured full professor of education at Fordham University's Graduate School of Education in New York City, and president of Transformation Education, LLC. Her successful professional and faculty coaching build upon her many years of experience helping people transform their lives, and her doctoral studies and research in adult education and higher education.
Characterized by a compassionate spirit, keen insight and gentle humor, Kathy thrives on walking along side her coachees/clients on the often otherwise isolated professional and life jou ey.
Kathy has successfully guided numerous faculty through the tenure and promotion process, as well as launched many beginning and seasoned academics into more rewarding and productive careers of research, publication, teaching, using technology, and teaching and designing distance learning courses. She is well experienced in helping adults transition the different stages of their professional, personal and "family" lives as she has coached and mentored may people in different settings (ministry, professional development, and higher education).
In addition, Kathy is an award winning author of 17 books and over 130 published articles and research papers. Her books and web-based audio materials are used as course materials in universities worldwide and have a large following in the areas of faculty development, transformative learning, adult learning and distance education. She is also a popular, motivational keynote speaker and seminar leader in the USA and abroad for academic conferences and faculty groups.
"Kathy" has an EdD and MEd in Higher & Adult Education from Widener University, an MA in Theology, and a BA from Brown University. Providence, RI. She is certified in professional coaching by Coaches Institute International.
