Remembering Gratitude
Today I was speaking with another therapist and he was sharing a story of struggle and at the end stated, “At least I’m not dead.” I was blown away in the moment of truth in that statement. Truly, we ALWAYS have something to be grateful for in our lives. Yes, I know that bad things can happen and I am not denying that at times in our lives it can become almost impossible to find things which we can be thankful of. However, despite those thoughts, the truth is that each and every one of us can find things to hold onto in our lives.

Year of Love
“Five hundred twenty-five thousandr Six hundred minutesr How do you measure-measure a year”rn–Seasons of Love from Rent As 2015 comes to a close I am hearing more and more about peoples Resolutions to lose weight, make more money, exercise more, eat healthier, etc. Although goals are very important to our lives and our striving to grow as people… I wonder if we have forgotten to stop and look at what we have NOW. Are we taking the time to celebrate the past year? Our accomplishments? The failures we survived? The Love?

Connecting Food & Sex
Last week, I had the great honor to talk on the tele-seminar “Abundance Reigns” where my topic was about our hungers and desires and how they relate to creating a more fulfilling life. This was a very fun talk and very interesting to prepare because the more I prepared the presentation, the more connections I kept coming up with between our physical hunger for food and our physical and emotional need for sex. I quickly realized that I could have done the entire presentation on that topic alone and could write a dozen articles on the many ways food and sex correlate.

Growing Pains
Growing pains are just that… painful. I’m not talking about physical growth spurts when you were younger and your body ached for days. No… I’m talking about growing pains that stem from personal growth. These growing pains manifest when you make changes in your life and feel emotional discomfort or pain. Sometimes growth can be quite exciting, but as humans, we are built to be creatures of habit and comfort.

Diets Don't Work
This time of year, we are often inundated with diets, cleanses, fasts, and programs that state outrageous claims saying they will “Change your life in 30 days,” “Lose 50 lbs in two weeks,” “Have the perfect body in 2 months,” and etc, all of which are, first and foremost, ridiculous claims and second, leading us to a very skewed view of health and happiness. Diets and weight loss don’t make us happy and outside of extreme situations, weight loss does not change anyone’s life.
