When we bring our whole self (mind, body, heart and spirit) to our whole life (work, relationships, finances, health, community) - we are saying "yes" to balanced living. As a front line social worker for ten years prior to starting my coaching and training business, Creative Wellness (in 2000) - I worked in high stress and high trauma work environments full time. I learned early in my career that self-care is not optional for helping professionals if one wishes a life of vitality, joy, health and well-being. Self-care and balanced living are foundations to managing stress, living well and experiencing great life, relationship and career fulfillment. I specialize in the art of self-care (where the expressive arts meet holistic health). I coach helping professionals (social workers, counsellors and therapists) to "dream, design and do" their highest vision of balance and wellness in life and work in order to prevent the overwhelm, stress and emotional exhaustion that at times be the costs of caring. I prioritize self-care in my own life and do my best, as the saying goes..."to practice what I preach". As a mother of two young children, a wife, an entrepreneurial social worker/coach and owner of two businesses...I honour the juggling act involved in truly showing up to live balance in the midst of it all. I honour this vision in my client's lives and inspire helping professionals to get excited about caring for themselves in mind, body, heart, and spirit - creating the dynamic balance, true wellBEing and meaningful contribution they crave in their lives. Warmly, Lynda

Favorite Quotes & Thoughts from Lynda Monk

Wellness is more than the absence of disease or illness - it is a way of being fully present in all that we do while making healthy lifestyle choices that support a sense of well-being in mind, body, heart and spirit. Wellness is about honouring and caring for yourself and this life you are living!

"Caring passionately about something isn't against nature, and it isn't against human nature. It's what we're here to do." Annie Dillard
