Max Highstein grew up in Baltimore and received a BA in Music from Goddard College in Vermont, an MA in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica in Los Angeles and a second MA in Psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles.
He wrote and recorded his first guided imagery program, "12 Cosmic Healers" in 1984 while attending USM, which combined the concepts of self-healing, angels and astrology in a journey through the heavens with musical key signatures and astrological signs corresponding to different areas of the body.
In 1985, Highstein wrote and produced the guided meditation program "The Healing Waterfall," which became a best seller and today remains one of the best-selling guided imagery programs of all time, winning About.com's 2012 Reader's Choice Award for Best Meditation Tool over 25 years after its initial release.
Max Highstein continues writing and producing music and guided meditation programs which are available through his company, The Healing Waterfall. The Healing Waterfall, a part of Highstein's Desert Heart Multimedia and Desert Heart Recordings, Inc, produces high-quality guided imagery audio programs designed for massage, relaxation, meditation, spiritual connection, healing and more.
