Dr. Paul Burghardt earned
a MS in exercise physiology and a PhD in biomedical science and has a
decade of research experience investigating how physical activity
alters behavior and neurobiology. He currently holds positions in ther
Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience Institute and the department ofr
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, both at the University ofr
Michigan.
Dr. Burghardt is a member of the Society for Neuroscience, ther International Behavioral Neuroscience Society, the American Congress ofr Rehabilitation Medicine, and the Michigan Metabolomics and Obesityr Center. He has authored several scientific publications on the behavioral, neurochemical, and physiological responses related to exercise and the behavioral responses to pharmacological compounds.
Dr. Burghardt has experience in clinical exercise research settings with projects that investigated the effect of nutritional supplements on physical and mental performance in athletes, and clinical rehabilitation experience in hospital-based phase-II cardiac rehabilitation programs.
