I have a Masters in Psychology and Social Work as well as a number of certifications that follow on this page. I have worked in mental health and substance abuse for over 20 years providing individual, couples, family and group therapy to children, adolescents and adults. I also provide hypnosis and hypnotherapy.
I have extensive experience in a large number of specialties.that are also listed following. I developed these specialties because many of them were underserved and clinicians were needed to help these people through. Now I have an extensive set of "tools"; specialties and skills that help me help others.
At Harbor Crest we don't use a "one size fits all" method. Treatment is based on the needs of the person we meet with, not our needs. Though we focus primarily on here and now there are times we must go back to move forward. We give feedback and do not merely reflect back to a client what he or she says. We work together to help our clients reach their goals. As human beings we sometimes will get lost in unfamiliar territory. We can blindly search an hope to stumble on one of the right paths, or we can ask someone who knows the way. We are here to help.

Couples Problems and Therapy
As human beings we have a tendency to stay stuck in patterns- We are creatures of routines. A pattern doesn't have to be enjoyable for us to repeat it, just familiar. It is what we naturally do without intervention. Some of our patterns are positive (our waking up routine, putting on a seat ...

Mind and Body, Each Affects the Other
In psychotherapy and hypnosis I often see the interplay of psychological and physiological symptoms. Clients with anxiety may report difficulty sleeping or neck, shoulder or back pain. Others may report headaches, irritable bowel, or increase in their asthma.

Give The Gift of Health! Hypnosis: Gift Certificates for People We Care About
If we were to try and reflect the gifts that we've given or received during a certain year it would take time and effort for us to recall. Some may be coninued to be enjoyed by the person receiving it, others may be broken or lost. A Gift of Health, whether it be a gym membership or our Hypnosis Gift Certificate, is something that not only helps someone now, but benefits them for the rest of their life.

Favorite Quotes & Thoughts from Randolph Bleiwas
As a human being we all get lost somewhere along the way at times. Sometimes we find one of the right paths by stumbling onto it. Often we don't. Asking someone who is familiar with the territory for the right path is a strength, not a weakness. When we are in times of difficulty, confusion or pain it is important to ask for help.
I am not the one who makes the change. You make the change with my support and direction. You deserve the credit, not I.
We cannot do alone what we can do together. Part of my value as a therapist is being on the outside looking in and seeing the whole picture. I am unbiased and my view is wide and clear. If I am going through a situatio I might well need to see someone else; it is human to be unable to be both in and outside a problem at the same time. Good therapists practice what they preach and know themselves.
