Renata Bartoli, PhD

I was born in the early 50s on the Italian Riviera near France where I graduated. Then I moved to Padua, near Venice, and I began teaching in various colleges. While supporting myself with my teaching job I continued my studies, completing first a three-year Post-Graduate Specialisation in Modern Philology, and then a PhD - partly prepared at the Sorbonne and Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris - in Neo-Latin Philology (Philology is the historical branch of Linguistics). I also qualified as a University Researcher in Italy and in France. I have a sound academic background with more than 20 scholarly publications to my credit - including two essays which received excellent international reviews - and I am fluent in English, Italian and French.

I have spoken at international congresses in Italy, France and Great Britain and I have a lifetime’s experience in teaching, counselling and coaching in many different environments. I have been involved in numerous educational projects and curriculum settings. I have had tutoring responsibilities at my college and I also trained teachers and coaches, helping them to organise their seminars and courses. In 1996-97 I lectured in a Shanghai university on behalf of the Italian Foreign Office and I then moved to London, where I reside with my husband and my cats. My research has been centred mainly on Symbolism with a special interest in Spirituality and History of Religions, which has led me towards Jungian Psychology and Astrology, the role of the Subconscious, and Hypnotherapy.

I started practising hypnosis in 1994 in Italy with some like-minded people, obtaining excellent results, but I have cultivated my interest in past lives since my teens, due to spontaneous memories I have had since my early childhood. During the early 90s I also trained in Channelling and I studied Crystal Therapy and Chakra Balancing. In 1997 I graduated as a Reiki Master in Hong Kong. Since moving to the UK I have gained several formal British and American qualifications in Hypnotherapy (with specialisations in Past Life Regression Therapy, Stop-Smoking and Weight Management) and Counselling (with specialisation in Grief and Bereavement) and set up a practice in North Harrow, Middlesex.

I am now the director of my own successful private practice, At The Apple Tree Hypnotherapy, which includes our specialised branch Footprints from the Past. We offer our clients a dedicated, comprehensive choice of services for their physical, emotional and mental well-being using a combined approach of Hypnotherapy, Conventional and Holistic NLP and Conventional and Holistic Counselling and Life Coaching that makes our methods particularly effective and flexible for their most varied needs.

I am a highly qualified and experienced Nationally Registered Hypnotherapist, fully insured, and I belong to some of the most prestigious national and international organisations in the field, regulated by a strict code of conduct. I am also the organiser and moderator of a Peer Support Group in North-West London for the General Hypnotherapy Register, the largest Association of Hypnotherapists in the UK (please check our websites for the complete list of my qualifications and affiliations).

As a practice we endeavour to provide support and guidance (via email and telephone) after a client has left our premises for as long as it benefits them. Our objective is always to provide a high quality bespoke service to those who put their trust in us, which is why we work only with a limited number of clients at any one time.
