As the Paradigm Shifts: A is for Acknowledgements, Avoidance, Anxiety, Awareness, Actualization and Acceptance.
Beginning any journey whether it be spiritual, business or family oriented, begins by simultaneously building and stepping onto the path. Laying down the materials can be done in any number of ways; if you’ve researched business training programs you know what I’m talking about. A paraphrase I found from the Chinese philosopher, Lau Tzu (604 BC – 531 BC) said: "Even the longest journey must begin where you stand."

As the Paradigm Shifts:R is for Resistance
I'm experiencing resistance to writing this blog. I feel angry, frustrated and distracted by, well … It’s more that I’m allowing myself to get distracted; that way I can avoid being with what I don’t want to be with. You might be asking – as I would, if I were you, why I’m resisting writing if I’m in the business of writing .

Dilemmas of Being in Business #2: What it is like when YOU are smarter than your Boss!
You and a colleague, Harry are up for a promotion. You know you are the better person for the job, but Harry got the position. He’s pompous, arrogant and doesn’t have the leadership skills that inspire you to generate, well, anything. You scratch your head in disbelief that he was chosen over you. Part of you, perhaps wants to sabotage Harry’s efforts and do whatever you can to expose him for the inadequate, incompetent individual that you see him to be; however, that goes against your integrity, and you may end up looking bad and feeling worse in the end.

As the Paradigm Shifts: P is for Power
In my first book, Self-Empowerment 101, I devote the first chapter solely to the subject of power. The reason is that through power and the energy that generates power, every event since the Big Bang is a result of that power. Regardless of how power is used – whether in alignment with evil or good intentions, to look small and helpless or to be a superpower, all is generated from the same source.

Experiencing the Resonance of ME
Sitting on the side of the mountain in my little trailer overlooking paradise I still wonder when things will shift; when I’ll get that phone call that says my life, as I’ve imagined it to be, is beginning NOW; that the moment has arrived – I’ve finally hit the Jackpot!

Immersion Before Emergence
As a teacher, facilitator and coach, I encourage my students to immerse themselves in a self-study program that allows them to fully realize who they are – that their security, stability and function in the world has nothing to do with what they believe to be true – only what they know to be true. The only way to know who you are is to dismantle your current belief system, to individuate and to differentiate yourself from everything you think yourself to be, do and have. You have to experience the truth to realize the truth.

We Want Transformation; We Just Don’t Want to Change
My colleague and friend, Maureen O’Neill, and I kibitz a great deal about what it is like to be on this spiritual journey – one of transformation. The truth is: It hard friggin’ work and it hurts like HELL, sometimes. Transformation, in a way, is easy. It’s something that just happens, like miracles and magic. It’s as if we have to do nothing, and all of a sudden – presto-change-o, we are transformed. We imagine with that transformation that life is easy and effortless, and that there is no more hard work to be done.

As the Paradigm Shifts: Q is for Question Reality
I read on the back of a car many years ago a bumper sticker that read “Question Reality!” Up until that time my life had been a mish mash of confusing circumstances, and it was a revelatory experience to take these two words deeply into my soul. I breathed deeply and felt as though I’d been given a sign that there was light at the end of the tunnel.

As the Paradigm Shifts: Z is for Zenith
The Zenith, is described as the highest point or state, the summit, or highest level of development: To have ended and thus arrived at a final stage. It is also considered the culmination of all that has gone before. From a spiritualists’ point of view, the zenith may be reaching enlightenment, or atonement (read this as at-one-ment): The Dali Lama stopped at a hotdog stand in New York City and said to the vender, “Make me one with everything.”

Dilemmas of Being in Business #3: Seeing the Big Picture
I can’t tell you the number of times over that past few weeks that I’ve heard the term seeing the big picture. I pay attention when something is said two or more times; there’s something to be mined for myself and perhaps for others. Seeing the Big Picture; what the heck does that mean? What requires one to see the big picture? And, what dilemma becomes apparent when considering the leap? “The Leap?” you might ask. Why would it take a leap? I’ll give you a number of analogies that might be helpful: The Fishbowl Analogy:
