I have had a very varied career ranging from selling and marketing, teaching and learning, martial arts, sport and the performing arts. My family name is Treacy and my stage name is Tracy. Please follow the links if you need the detail.
I have constantly tried to upgrade and improve my range of skills in order to give me options when life throws up its challenges. This has given me the facility to value my integrity and change when bad situations have developed. My work as a cabaret artiste and in the world of radio has been helped by other areas of my life. I returned to learning as a mature student and have tried to learn new skills ever since. Currently, I am living and working the European ideal as an Englishman existing in Spain. Believe me it is great but we have to work at it.!
Spanish is not an easy language to learn but I am going to classes and attending Intercambio sessions when I can work with Spanish learners of English. This year I am writing more articles and intend to travel more. We have visited Califo ai, France and the Basque Country already this year. I am also developing ideas throught the website.

Aspects of Self Improvement
There are many ways to improve yourself but in order for improvements to be made it will always be necessary to take stock of your current situation. For some people the concept will be a process of continually reading other people's advice then acting on what has been read. For others it will be more of a question of identifying a particular area of need.

Getting Over the Flu
I'm not too sure whether this is really a Health or a Fitness article but my own recent bout of flu prompted me to write this article. I have kept myself fit all my life and the habit started in my early school days when I joined the school Cross Country team. I was never the best runner but I had to run every day to be good enough for the team. The habit stayed with me all my life and I twigged early on to the fact that running is one common denominator to most sports.

How The Discipline from Martial Arts Can Develop Our Lives
Jim Bouchard is a motivational speaker in the USA and he, like myself, has a background in Martial Arts. Now that I no longer practice the physical side of the Martial Arts the mental aspects come ever more into my life. Jim had sent me notification of his book and then he also sent me a copy to read.He is a 5th Dan and the learning of life skills via the Martial Arts is often under-valued.

The True Value of Tourism
Travelling is good for the soul because you learn about yourself and aspects of history. The long flights to other continents give us time to be thankful for what we have and who we are. It also gives a time to reflect on the skills of others and how others look after your well-being.

Ageism and other problems in the Workplace
Occupational Psychologist, Stephen Howarth, joined Vince to discuss the implications of the working life in the UK. I asked Stephen whether he felt the management teams of many companies haven't really looked too deeply at the people who work for them. Stephen went to University to develop his ideas of helping people including work in mental institutions and he was repulsed by what he learnt during his studies.

Farewell to Margaret-a time to reflect

The News is Too Bad for Children to Watch on TV
The early evening TV used to have a watershed called the Kiddies Truce on BBC TV. Children were expected to go to bed a lot earlier. Those days will never come back but there are serious issues to discuss about the subject material to which children are now being exposed from an early age. Psychologist, Steve Ashley, discussed with me just how the material children are watching and listening to might be affecting them in ways which will not become apparent until they become older.

Important Things in Life we don't always learn at an early age.
Firstly, we are not really educated into looking properly at the food we eat. There are vested interests in us eating the wrong foods. Look at the medical giants who make fortunes because we get ill. Decide to look at the foods that will help you maintain the best life. I recommend looking at the Gracie Diet. I have no vested interest and only wish others to feel healthy and enjoy their lives. I use the Gracie principles but do not have it as a dogma. I take the general advice and live a normal life around this lifestyle.

Lighten Up!
I have long believed in the power of the human mind to make the human body feel better and more relaxed. Very often in my radio broadcasting I have felt there was an overload in serious news. One guest on a podcast interview, Jim Bouchard, even said he believed that too much attention to the news can depress people. I believe he had that one spot on. It can be a fine line but it is possible to develop an atmosphere of light-hearted comment whilst discussing serious topics and I also like to use my imagination to see how other people will react to the lines I am developing.

"The possible effect of the collapse of the Euro on ex-pats living in Spain
Is there such a beast as an expert on the state of the Euro and the Eurozone? Every day another expert arrives on the TV screen to warble his or her expertise as to what is really going on in the turbulent world of inte ational finance. I am not an expert but I am worried by what is going on.

Teaching and the Development of Self-Esteem
Vince chatted with Michelle Rossi who writes about young people trying to find themselves. She talks about the huge transition involved in changing from one school to the next. She develops the theme through developing the power to think positively rather than negatively. She sees the really critical ages are from 9 to 12 years of age. We developed our discussion to address the serious nature of depression often caused by low self-esteem.One student in particular had difficulty in focusing and sometimes a teacher has to spot the necessary strategy to help the individual.
