We have the universe inside us! The consciousness which created this universe is within all that is without is an expression of what is within. We have lost this knowledge yet it remains with us and makes itself known through a sixth sense. The more we learn to listen to this faint voice amongst worldly thoughts the knowledge from before that is now makes itself more and more known. As we go about our daily lives there appears to be a change in how we recognize that which comes our way on the path of life. There is an immediate knowing when an emotion rises in our consciousness and there is a fork in the path, one has pain one has peace the choice is ours.

Let us consider that as a new born babe we suckle in warmth of our mother and although just beginning this new life we are ageless in that life that makes the breath within our chest has never left us. As we grow the innocence of youth changes as our inability to answer questions about what appear to be inconsistencies in this world bombard our lives. We are lied to, perhaps our parents’ divorce, maybe a death in the family but these actions change us. We must build boundaries to protect ourselves from the suffering of this world. Pure innocence does not have the power to protect us from consequences until wisdom is added to the inner picture.

When life becomes coupled with the inner Self that infinite knowing begins to break through the boundaries it begins to soften the reason and sweeten the hearts relationship with the subject object world that we inhabit. The inner strength of this softening of heart provides the perception of the Self and simultaneously the outward expression of nature with its survival of the fittest tendencies have a different meaning to us.

Our relationship within has changed and the relationship outside our physical being has also changed for we understand the connectedness of the inner and outer as the gap in the subject and object world is closed and we see that all are one.

The great ones such as Buddha or Bramarishi Vasishta, Christ, Krishna have all had a message about this dimension of consciousness where the perception reaches a point of infinite insight. There can be discussions about the rising of kundalini, through the chakras from muladahara to Sasrarha but experience is not what brings about understanding on its own. Experience is what is happing to us and in that instant we are caught up in it and have forgotten everything else up to that point. Yet once the experience is over we are back to thinking about it in the past and not maintaining consistency with the Self that was the screen for that experience to display itself.

So when the experience disappears one desires to seek it again, one desires to see where it went to somehow get it back again and in this search they must learn to walk on water within. For it is the subtleties of doubt or inattention or perhaps an as yet unnamed impulse that has taken our infinite focus and turned it outside out of a habit connected to our karma. To see and truly understand our karma we must be able to see all the lives as inca
ations on this material plane. Yet that is not the object or goal but another hindrance to be experienced.

Many of the more subtle planes are described by mystics or the categorization of experiences into the types of realization that can be achieved through self discipline but that is not where our focus should be. The starting point and ending point is the breath.

We came into this world with a breath and did not contemplate that experience or the dire necessity of it to our lives because the mind with its karmic ties was not yet fully present. The mind using the power of the Self has created this body and has created the material universe but it has not created the Self and without the Self there is no mind but with the mind Self comes into being on this material plane.

By focusing on the breath and watching the mind knowledge of the mind can be obtained. For the subject watches the object until they become one and the experience ceases. This is concentration but it is subtle, more subtle than holding an apple because your attention is split on breathing and thinking. Like a flame the thinking will go out when the fuel for the thought is burned up, there may be more thoughts and more flames but the breath continues to bring one back to the present consciousness.
