The best way to encourage yourself and other people to live a better harmonious life, that is both mentally and physically fulfilling for everybody, is by living life positively.rnHere are a few suggestions on where to start: To not hurt any living being The most important thing required to lead a better harmonious life is: to not hurt any living being even to the slightest extent, through our mind, speech or conduct. When we introduce this principle into our life, we will surely experience immense peace. Moreover, this implies we will not see others’ faults, nor will we get into harsh or unhealthy competition with anyone, the two main reasons that don’t allow unity to thrive in relationships. So, as a direct result, we will feel harmony with everyone. Therefore, - Begin each morning by reciting this intent in your mind, and keeping this intent alive throughout the day, every day, “May no living being be hurt even to the slightest extent by my thoughts, words or actions.” Through this intent, you will positively feel lighter and happier within. - Thereafter, if you happen to hurt anyone through our actions, words or thoughts, then from within, we shall ask for forgiveness (pratikraman) from the God residing in the person you caused hurt or harm. By doing so, you are affirming that you are not in agreement with the mistake that happened by you. Also, it means you intend that such action does not reoccur in future. To Adjust is another major key Learn to adjust with others, especially when things get challenging. When you find yourself in a difficult situation,: Try to understand the point of view of others.rnBe willing to meet them halfway.rnBe open-minded, try not to have preconceived opinions about people or situations. rnListen to your heart rather than your intellect.rnBe willing to compromise and let go. When you learn to adjust with others, you experience inner peace and positive solutions come quickly. The more you adjust and let go instead of holding onto your point of view concerning someone, so will they. They too will be less defiant towards you and be willing to compromise. Also, try the following: Live your life morally, honestly and with integrity. This in itself is a great service to humanity and yourself. Focus on the positive virtues of everyone you meet. It is all too easy to see the fault or mistakes in others and make opinions about them. But instead, if you see the best in others and stay away from negative thoughts and opinions, then your relationship will be more pleasant. Be charitable and help those who are less fortunate. Your help does not necessarily have to be in monetary terms, it could be in the form of donating to food banks or even supplying medicines to the sick. Helping or supporting others is a noble habit that one must cherish. The above are a few suggestions that encourage us and others to live a better harmonious life. If introduced into our everyday life, they will yield positive results for everyone concerned. Oneness with everyone through Self-realisation For us to nurture unity in all aspects of individuality and differences, attain Self-realisation. When you attain the knowledge of ‘who am I’, you see the world through the vision of the Soul. The nature of every Soul is the same. And Soul, by its inherent nature, is pure. So through this vision, there is natural oneness with every single living being. In contrast, when we see the world from the perspective of the body and name, there will always exist individuality and differences, because then, we are led by the intellect.
