Now, one of the most potent forms of prana that the etheric body receives is the energy from the sun’s rays, termed in Theospophy (Alice Bailey’s - Treatise of Cosmic Fire) as "solar pranic emanations." To understand the effect the sun’s rays have on us requires a deeper understanding of the rays and their emanations. There are three main channels of contact, which have differing effects on the bodies that they contact.
Generally, the affects are good and provide nourishment for our cells and physical bodies. These rays are not part of the building of the form, that is left to the Angelic realm, but the rays help to preserve the form and its component parts through nourishment with solar prana.
We are not going to go into detail about the other rays from the sun, but for your information, some rays act as destroyers and others as preservers. This subject is a deeper study for another time.

The rays we are going to focus on are ‘pranic solar emanations’, which work within the four ethers of the physical plane of existence. The 4-ethers are not visible but they are the basis of all physical life on this plane of existence. The heat from this solar emanation works directly with life on the physical plane, with the atoms of matter, and the energy wheels or chakrams.

It has been mentioned before that the etheric body is the ‘web’ that keeps the physical-being separate from the inner worlds, until the person is ‘evolved’ enough to transit between the two regions with ease. If it was not for the etheric body, a person would be walking in the two worlds at the same time and for the un-evolved soul, this would be a very frightening event. Imagine if you had no knowledge of the the inner worlds and its ghostly inhabitants and yet you could see it all with your physical eye. It would be a very terrifying experience and indeed this sort of phenomena has been felt by ‘drug users’ with terrible psychotic results. So the etheric body is like a defence mechanism and a very essential element for the seeker on the path.

It is very easy to feel pain. It is not so easy to feel healing. It is not so easy to feel healing when it is happening on multiple levels below the surface of our awareness, when we’re already trying to move on to the next session, the next run, or the next challenging week. It is b
