I’ve been thinking about close of the year 2012. I usually think of the close of the year as a time for reflection and gratitude.

But what came to me in this morning’s meditation was the topic of forgiveness. I thought to myself – I’m not holding any grudges. I can’t think of anyone I’m displeased with. Why forgiveness?

What I felt was the need for forgiving any place inside where my heart is seeing anything or anyone as separate from the Universal Oneness – as separate from myself. Where am I not seeing the Face of God in anyone or anything? This highlighted a few areas that might need some attention.

What we see in the world is seen through our filters – colored by our thoughts, perceptions, beliefs and emotions. Therefore we, in a sense, choose what we witness. In everything we see there is light and darkness. Within it all is the Face of God, the Universal Oneness. We are not separate from anything we see. What we see is a reflection of ourselves and therefore a part of ourselves.

Wherever I see anyone or anything as separate from myself, wherever I see anyone or anything as other than the Face of God, this is a signal to me that my heart is turned away from witnessing the Divine, the Universal Oneness. I am witnessing my own ego, my judgments, my fears, and creating a separateness between myself and Spirit. When I tune into my body, I can usually identify this as a tightening and closed feeling around my heart.

Forgiveness brings a returning – away from the witnessing of my ego self to the witnessing of the Universal Oneness. Forgiveness brings me to recognize my connection with all things. To forgive my judgments of others – wherever I see anything in anyone other than a manifestation of the Divine – means to turn my heart away from myself and toward my connection to Spirit. Then I will see them too as a part of the Universal Oneness, as a part of myself.

I encourage you to take time to reflect upon the year 2012. If you notice places in yourself where you are holding judgments, fears, grudges, anger, resentment – these are all signs of holding on to past hurts and disappointments.

I encourage you to take this time to reflect on forgiveness. Call to the Divine and ask for help to let go of the past and return your witnessing to the One. Ask for support to see your reflections of 2012 through the filters of Divine Love, Compassion, Forgiveness, Beauty and Peace.

If you find you need guidance in this process, please contact me. I have several options available to help you along your path.

May we all live as One.

Blessings, and Have a Joyful Day!

Recovery has turned out to be one of the most misunderstood aspects of an active lifestyle. It is very easy to measure a training plan. It is very easy to compare progress with photographs. It is very easy to feel pain. It is not so easy to feel healing. It is not so easy to feel healing when it is happening on multiple levels below the surface of our awareness, when we’re already trying to move on to the next session, the next run, or the next challenging week. It is b
