Modern technology moves at lightening speed today, so it is important to keep up with all the newer and quicker plans for orthodontic braces if your child will need them in the future. Vibration Treatment Plan This treatment plan employs the use of vibration that is painless and is sent to the roots of the teeth and jawbone. This accelerates the bone remodeling, which is the process of breaking down bone tissue and recreating it correctly. This is achieved from the pressure of the braces or aligners. It makes it possible for the teeth to move and become stabilized in their new position by the patient wearing a mouthpiece that is attached to a small device that creates the vibrations for only 20 minutes each day. This process cuts the time of wearing braces in half. Orthodontics Focusing On Smile Area With this treatment, the core objective focuses on the smile area instead of the traditional method of repositioning the patient's bite in the process. In addition, the use of special nickel titanium wires that move the teeth is used for this treatment plan. The tooth-colored braces are almost invisible that the patient wears for the six months. These braces use low force techniques that move the teeth more comfortably than traditional braces. Although using standard orthodontic mechanics, the emphasis is now on improvement of the cosmetic appearance of the teeth. A retainer will still need to be worn after the braces are removed. The choice the patient has is either the fixed retainer that is bonded to the backside of the teeth or the removable retainer that must be worn a few nights a week. This prevents the teeth from moving back to their original state. Braces Using Self-Ligating Brackets Another new technology used for a faster treatment process is the use of individual self-ligating brackets. This process involves the brackets using a sliding process, which move the teeth faster and easier where they are intended to be located. Smaller brackets are used which leads to better oral hygiene through brushing and flossing. The qualifications of these dentists are normally skilled extensively in orthodontistry, restorative and cosmetic dentistry. Mini Pins Another newer technology involves the use of mini pins, which are temporary anchorage devices that help to decrease the treatment time by allowing the teeth to move very precisely and efficiently. A digital impression scanner provides a detailed readout of the teeth structure for the different braces to be fabricated. The mini pins are minimally invasive and can usually be installed using only a gel topical anesthetic. Taking only a few minutes, the mini pins are strategically placed to move only the teeth needing movement without damaging other teeth.
