TThe government of India has been working towards the welfare of its citizens since time immemorial. Every part that comes into power makes sure that it launches some welfare schemes. Modi government has also been doing this since it came into power in 2014. Here's a list of the latest government schemes in India

National Health Protection Mission (Ayushman Bharat)

This scheme of the central government focuses on the health of the poor section of the society. Through this scheme, the government intends to provide medical benefits to the poor groups. The scheme was launched as Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Abhiyan on 25th September 2018. This scheme further has two components – the first relates to setting up of at least 1.5 lakh health and welfare centers across the country and the second relates to National Health Protection Mission under this scheme through which the government will provide an indemnity of Rs.5 lakhs to around 10 crore underprivileged groups. These groups will be able to undergo cashless treatment in almost all the government and private hospitals across India.

Solar Charkha Mission

This mission was launched by the President of India on 27th June 2018. Under this mission, the government will provide a subsidy of Rs.550 crores to the rural artisans. The scheme will be run by the Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises. It will provide employment to artisans across 50 identified clusters in the country. In each of these clusters, 400-2000 artisans will be given employment.

National Nutriment Mission

This mission is an extension of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyan of the Indian government. It was launched by PM Modi on 8th March 2018. Some of the major objectives of this scheme include: Attain proper nutrition among children aged 0-6 years, girls in the adolescent age, pregnant women and lactating mothers. Reduction in under-nutriment, anemia, and stunting. Lowering low birth weight by at least 2% annually.

GOBAR Dhan Yojna

This scheme was launched on 30th April 2018. The aim of this scheme is to bring about an improvement in the living conditions of the people living in rural areas by making them open defecation free. This scheme is also a section of the Swachh Bharat Initiative and intends to use and convert the cow dung and other solid waste into biogas and manure.

Atal Bhujal Yojna

It is a water conservation scheme launched by the central government. The main aim of this scheme is to deal with the problem of severe water crisis due to the depletion of groundwater resources. Some of the main objectives of this scheme are: Revitalization of groundwater resources so that there is sufficient water storage for agriculture. Revitalization of surface water so that the depleted groundwater can be recharged. This scheme basically focuses on water-deficient regions of the country.

Samagra Shiksha Scheme

This scheme was launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development on 24th May 2018. The major aim of this scheme is to improve the quality of education in the schools. This is an umbrella scheme that will focus on introducing digital technology and skill development in the school system. This program also includes the provision of a grant of five thousand to twenty thousand rupees for strengthening the libraries in the schools. This scheme also combines several features of the already running schemes like Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, RMSA, and Teacher Education.

National Bamboo Mission

Recently, the central government restructured its old Bamboo Mission in 2018. The main aim of this mission now is to boost the income of the bamboo farmers in northeast India by promoting the cultivation of bamboo. As much as Rs.1290 crores have been sanctioned by the central government for this scheme. The government wants to promote bamboo cultivation as a full-fledged industry. With the implementation of this scheme, the bamboo farmers will be ensured of a continuous source of income.

Krishonnati Yojna

Also known as the Green Revolution – Krishonnati Yojna, this is an umbrella scheme that includes all other schemes of the agriculture and the allied sectors. The scheme comprises of eleven other schemes from this sector. Initially, this scheme was only for the 12th Five Year Plan, but now it has been extended to 2019-20. rnApart from the above-mentioned schemes, there are some other schemes launched by the central government. Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna – Its target has been reduced from 2022 to 2019.rnNamami Ganga Programme – The outlay of this scheme has been increased to include the overall development of all the villages that come under the area.rnNational Health Protection Scheme – The scheme intends to provide medical reimbursement up to Rs. 5 lakhs to the poor families.
