About 18 months ago I started a journey to cleanse my body and mind. I was drinking way too often which then led to unhealthy eating habits, I was way too stressed, not sleeping properly, my mind was cluttered, I was too consumed with work and how to make money. I had no idea where I was going, worst of all I had no idea who I was. Never in a million years have I suspected that the simple cleansing will actually take me on a journey to re-evaluate my whole life and send me on a path to find my lost self.
For months I was in a state of ruins. My old self collapsed, it was dead. My new self hasn't emerged yet. I was standing still, in transit from what I was to what I'm to become. And it was ok, like they say from ruins new life begins. I felt different, more grounded. People and circumstances that I used to find intimidating seemed so small and irrelevant.
At times I was being tested. A bunch of old negative emotions would surface pretty much all at once. It was one day after the other. I felt under attack from many angles. So I started to write again. I haven’t written in over 10 years. It felt so natural, it felt so right, it felt like Me. I was becoming more certain of who I am which gave me enough courage to start sharing my writing.
It also became easier to deal with many things and let go of many toxic people I had in my life.
When you’re caught up in the whirlpool of life, when you feel heavy weight on your body, your mind and your heart - stop! Sometimes the best thing to do is to do nothing. Stay still, observe, breath, count your blessings and trust your heart…until you grow your wings again and fly high up to reach for your stars.
IF YOU FEEL YOUR TRUE SELF IS HIDING:
~ Cleanse your body as it will cleanse your mind too.
~ Let yourself and your life follow nature’s agenda - slow but steady growth.
~ Always, always, always listen to you heart. When someone's actions make you little uncomfortable, when someone's words create little knot in your stomach, it's a sign. Sign that discomfort may grow bigger, that knot might get harder to untie. Sign that your boundaries are being crossed.
~ Be true to yourself. If you feel lost it’s Ok to say “I don’t know who I am” or “I don’t know where I’m going”. Not knowing who you are might be the only identity you have at that moment.
~ Never stop believing in yourself! Never stop believing period!
