Asking for the truth is the ultimate question but first we have to know how to know it. The way is through direct experience by our objective observation of our self.
This article is about an organ which you have never heard of or been aware exists. It is the ‘pattern organ’ and is located in your mind. Since science has not yet located the ‘mind’ we have no idea how big it is or where it is, and so that means it could contain several other organs within itself, it is possible. Using the image of an organ will help you conquer fixed patterns or as they are also called, habits. Like all other organs and limbs in your body, in time, the pattern organ gets hard and atrophies, and like any other organ, you get old and die if it atrophies totally.
If this were my last day alive and I was asked what I discovered in a lifetime of searching for Truth, I would have to say that the Beatles were correct, all you need is love.
The only way to be truly free is to accept your prison, be that in the society or in your own mind. In that acceptance, you have released your resistance. By releasing your resistance, you become free. Negative emotions and resistance is a denial of the objective reality of the situation and that is a resistance against truth, which means you are living in a lie.
The question of having a choice is an interesting one about personal power, it is one we choose to believe. If you truly had a choice in your life and actions, would you do the many things you do that are detrimental to your self or others? How many times a month, a week, a day, do you say to yourself, 'Why did I do that? I know better, I knew I shouldn't have done that.' You did it because you do not have the ability to choose. Personal growth is gaining the ability to choose freely.
There is a difference between ones character and abilities and ones self. The skills are temporary, they die with the body, ones self continues. When we compare our skills and personal growth to each other in the process of our self-improvement, we have superiority and inferiority. That is where we get lost in ego. Ego separates us from our true knowledge of what we really are.
One thing that you may have found through my articles is that you cannot ‘do’ anything. Everything just happens and you react by instinct or by one of the minds of the ego part of your being. Rarely if ever do you act out of the wisdom mind of your ‘Essence’ or ‘Being’. We call this being governed by the Law of Accident.
One of the many drawbacks to western culture is the lack of involvement and devotion on a deeply personal level to anything or anyone. When I was in Cambodia I spent a few days with a group from Singapore who was there as a charity project bringing cloths and supplies to the poor. There is a great love and companionship in these people, and even though they welcomed me with great love and openness, I still felt out of place to a degree.
Forgiveness is a very popular concept. Everyone who is interested in self healing and personal development is talking about forgiveness and how that is being compassionate etc. However, many people find it difficult or impossible to truly forgive. Some people may think they have forgiven, but a little inquiry and you will find that they still harbor ill feelings.
The fact is that you pay for everything, every breath has a cost. When you receive something, anything, you pay for it in some way. If you don’t pay now, you will pay later, or you may have paid in advance. Self development cannot happen if you deny or ignore the reality that everything has a cost, and if we do not pay in some way, we will not get the value we could have.
If you have no useful purpose, your work, job, something that you do that is useful and serving humanity daily, or if you do not find what you do to be a useful service, then you may have a feeling that there is no reason for you to get up in the morning. Whether we realize it consciously or not, in contemplation we will find that our basic nature is to serve other people. If we look at religions, God wants us to serve Him or Her, we are created to serve God. How do we serve God? What a ridiculous thought, what could we do for God that It could not do for Itself?
Opposing Polarities May Cooperate With Each Other Or They Conflict To Varying Degrees Fluidity is the answer to all confusing statements. Fluidity is the key to wisdom. This article will discuss fluidity, its meaning and use. If to you, for example, conflict means opposing, that indicates that you do not have fluidity as a personal quality and so your mind is fixed on your definition of conflict. Nothing is fixed in this world nearly as rigidly as a human mind. However, the mind of a wise person is as supple as a blade of young grass.
Many people suffer from the past of what their parents did to them, the negative events of their childhood etc. The purpose of this article is to present the reason why it is hard to release the past and end the perpetual limitations and suffering. The concept of forgiveness rarely works, as I have discussed in another article The Truth About Forgiveness, How To Really Forgive Permanently
Depression, which is partly anger at ourselves, is self-destructive and drains our energy to the point that it is sometimes difficult to function even minimally. Depression is an illness of will, which becomes diseased, making a person incapable of persevering in many pursuits. People always tell a depressed person to get control and stop wallowing in self-pity, but this is like telling a kindergarten child to solve a nuclear physics problem. There are many types of depression with a variety of causes.
I was asked a question; “I’m trying to find a way to balance having a relationship and achieve my goal. But I see I’ve failed to realise I cannot have both. Because my goal is also to be balanced my thinking is that I needed to have a relationship in order achieve this.”
This article was the subject of a 90 minute talk given by the author. Members of the http://LawOfAttractionForum.net can get a FREE copy of the MP3 Audio file. When we are young we ask the question of why am I here. This is normal for most people. Some have stopped asking and forgot they asked at all, and others still ask no matter how old they are. We look for an answer, ask our parents, teachers, anyone, but do not find anyone who can give a reasonable answer.
I have spent a couple of months visiting my father and I have come to see some very disturbing things about not just myself, but how our personality, and thus our life, is formed and lived. As anyone who has spent enough time reflecting on their character and seeing their flaws (we all have flaws even if you don’t see or admit it) would say; “Why am I this way?”
This is a follow up to the article entitled ‘The Eleventh Hour’, in which we discussed the value and need of a deadline. Now we shall discuss where the power of having a deadline comes from. The reason desires do not make things happen is because they lack intensity. If you want the universe to follow your command you must make the command with a level and in the same type of power to match the Universe.
Many people hate money because our life is controlled by it. That is valid and true, but for every negative there is a positive, and the positive side of being controlled by money is what I would like to discuss. The most important part of achieving a happy life is eliminating all negative emotions. The complete eradication of negative feelings may be impossible, but a significant reduction is still pretty good and very realistic.
The meaning of Eastern in this article derives from a combination of the original teachings of the Buddha, Confucius, Lao Tzu, Sufism, and others as understood by me but does not mean to imply that all people in the east are this way, just the teachings. The western way is traditional psychotherapy and its assimilation into current so called spiritual and new age thoughts. This is also not to say that all westerners are that way. It does however show the difference in the cultures and the typical mentality. If you are sure you are not, ‘like that’, you probably are.
This article is about how to increase your awareness, learning how to hold your tongue, to not say the wrong thing and, not stick your foot in your mouth. All this is achieved by removing selfish desires. You may not realize how much of your life is ruled by very subtle but powerful selfish thoughts which you do not even realize is being selfish. This level of selfishness is not what you would commonly recognize as being selfish, but is a very powerful negative factor in our lives.
In the search for what excites you in life, there is no thing to do or possess, no place to go, nothing at all that can replace the essential need and ultimate foundation of good companionship to make life in general more interesting and satisfying.
Today I would like to discuss a significant obstacle in our search for truth and personal development that is so effectively ignored and simultaneously encouraged that we have virtually lost any significant chance of success. As we already know, in the search for the reality of our Being and its cultivation to higher levels of development, we must first eliminate all our illusions. We live in our opinions and subjective views which leads us into negative emotions.
It is a common phenomena that people working with the law of attraction and positive thoughts towards a goal will receive many opportunities, but often, they never materialize. This leads to confusion and eventually dropping of the faith and efforts along with giving up hope. I have spent many years studying this problem and would now like to explain it and tell you how to correct it. The problem is in lying. Specifically self-lying. When you meet someone and they are lying to you, you may or may not know it.
Spiritual growth relies, in my opinion after decades of self work and study along with meeting many remarkable and unremarkable people, on the cultivation of your morals, personality and character. A strong character with correct standards and morals is the first prerequisite step a normal person must take towards spiritual growth to attain bliss and balance. To develop this requires many steps as all things of value do, the first being to eliminate negative emotions. Negative emotions include aggressive as well as passive traits from anger to guilt.
Many people in Western countries have a very comfortable life with all the necessities that anyone can ask for, yet they are unfulfilled and dissatisfied. The normal course of action is to find a new job or relationship. It does not take long until another change is required since that is not the real problem. I am currently on a journey through South East Asia to research ways and places in which people can find a sense of purpose in their life to help ease this trouble and avoid unnecessary employment turmoil and relationship break-ups.
If I treated Paul with great kindness and generosity, he would praise me at my funeral as being the most wonderful man who ever lived. But if I also treated John with cruelty and cheated him every chance I could, he would have only terrible things to say. The two would argue bitterly defending their position about what type of person I really was. Both would be right.
This article will explain the cause of stress related to the pressures of life and how to eliminate the negative effects. Not only will that be explained, but you will also find how to use the pressure in a positive way. If you push on something, it resists being pushed. This applies to any material object, even air has a degree of resistance if you can feel it. This is the pressure of one force against another.
There are many paths to spiritual and worldly freedom. Every person can choose a path that suits them, and many work equally well. We can choose Zen, Kabbalah or Sufi for example which are very different paths but all lead to the same end. Some paths take a person further and quicker than others in the same time frame, but to choose a path that is not suitable to your character will be a disappointing waste of your life. If you buy a house that is more than you can afford and take a big mortgage, then cannot pay the mortgage each month, you will lose the house and the money you put in.
This article is a gamble. When you read it, maybe you will identify with what is written, or think I am a fool. I have written this for a purpose and I am willing to take that risk. All I ask is that if the subject interests you, then please read the whole article so you hear the full thoughts and not just one side of an example.
With all the uproar about how the world is changing to conform with the demands of immigrant Muslim demands, I felt it was the right time to make a statement. Feel free to distribute this article as you wish. There are many examples such as creating special time slots for swimming pools and sports games, and the rescheduling of university exams because they were on a Sunday, which was a time for Muslim prayers.
A human without love is not a human being. To live without loving is merely existing, it is a robots life. To be truly alive, to live, to feel, one must have someone to love. Love must be given to someone who can receive it for the love to feel love. If love is given to one who cannot accept it, then it burns even more painful than if there where no love to begin. Without love, the riches of life are worthless. As a diamond buried deep in the ground goes unnoticed of its beauty, so does any gift in life that goes unshared. Joy comes from giving to one you love.
Many people are looking for a spiritual teacher, an enlightened being who can help them progress in their spiritual growth or path to enlightenment. Some jump from one teacher to another being perpetually dissatisfied, or maybe they find one teacher they like and stay there for the rest of their lives.
Have you ever been, or talked to someone who is clearly upset and when asked; “What’s wrong?” insists that nothing is wrong? The more you probe, the more they resist. There is clearly something wrong but they will not open up. You write it off as being emotionally closed and eventually give up. The problem is, you are asking them to open up in a way that they have for generations been bred not to do.
Your whole life is most likely spent trying to make something of yourself, that is what we are taught from youth. Make something of yourself! It is all about Self-improvement.
The quality of your actions and the results are relative to the level of awareness that we possess. A strong character is the foundation and roots that hold up the massive structure of a complete human being. "Character is Destiny" Heraclitus, Pre-Socratic philosopher These character traits are the foundation of a successful business, personal and spiritual life. This is far from a complete list, however it is plenty to work with and will lead you to discover what else you must do. Responsibility.
You may have started out not knowing anything about the spiritual side of life, you where only material, but there was something different about you that made you feel something was missing in a so called normal life. Or perhaps you knew some greater truth, but did not have the method of finding it or talking about it.
It is clear that an accepted belief these days is that all is love. That all things exist because of love. In Sufism, we say that God is love and out of God’s love all things have come into being. So nothing exists save love. It is also commonly accepted that very few people know true love and what love really is, never mind have or share it. And this is the cause of much anguish. Also, it is common that people are unfulfilled in life, regardless of their belief about love, having it or not, or its permeating existence in all things.
When we are young we ask the question of why am I here. This is normal for most people. Some have stopped asking and forgot they asked at all, and others still ask no matter how old they are. We look for an answer, ask our parents, teachers, anyone, but do not find anyone who can give a reasonable answer. We eventually shut the door to that question because it becomes too painful or frustrating to have it on our mind knowing that we most likely will never get a good answer. We know innately that there is more to life.
I was first introduced to Think and Grow Rich by my grandfather when I was 12 years old. He gave me his copy, an original printing from India, his home country. I read it and it worked. From literally zero assets and no help whatsoever from my parents, at age 12, I was a millionaire by 25, owning 8 companies and retired at 29. Through my life, I have tried to teach people how to succeed based on my experience and the principles in the book, but with very little success.
The following are some examples which a reader presented from his life. Reader: 1.) During school days, many times I was home in the evening and thinking of some girl or boy from my class and tha I went out to the market and would see them there. This used to make me wonder how did they come to the market, but I used to think, that since I went to the market where lots of people come to do shopping so it's not strange to see them there as those markets sell everything so people always come there. But now I think why didn’t I meet other friends whom I was not thinking about.
Let’s use for the purpose of this lesson, this definition of God. God is not a particular being, there is nothing religious about God. God simply is a name given to a thing so that we can refer to that thing in conversation for the purposes of increasing our knowledge. God is that thing that is the source of all things in existence. You can call it the great cosmic creator, but that would be somewhat cumbersome, and the name god has been used so much that it is simply the easiest name to use.
The Law of Opposites is unavoidable in our world. It simply states that for everything, its opposite must also exist. This applies to temperature; hot and cold, weight; heavy and light, and emotions; love and hate. This article is about Love. Unfortunately, being a human on earth, that means there has to be an opposite force to the human emotion of love. The other side of the emotion of love can be many different negative states such as fear, hate, anger, jealousy, and several others.
When anyone asks; ‘How are you?’I am always well. The secret to always being happy is to have nothing you want to do. This is the essence of the Buddhist teaching that all suffering is caused by desires. The more we desire, the more we suffer, either through lack of what we desire or fear of losing what we have which we desire to keep. It may sound contradictory, but we can have desires and be very active without the pain of having desires. The key is the difference between desires for material things and desire for a state of mind, something non-material.
Many people complain that their parents did things to them as a child which have negatively effected them emotionally as an adult. These emotional issues are based on the memories. The memories are real, but the reality today is that the problem is in fact just memories. The problem is not that your parents or whoever, did these things. The problem is that you are in the habit of reacting to current events as if these things from the past are still happening today.
Can business and spiritual growth go hand in hand and both develop simultaneously? Emphatically yes. Sufism and the Tantric paths are two examples of having a family and work or business in harmony with ones spiritual growth. The past Sheik of the Jerrahi order in Istanbul owned a candy store, and the Sheik before him owned a bookstore, both had families.
The concept of splitting the bill when out with your friends for a meal or coffee for example, each paying for themselves, is a terrible thing because it robs us of the joy of giving and joy of receiving. Not only the joy is lost, but there is a far more insidious problem that invades our heart. In take turns treating each other, we create a loving world. This way we get the joy of giving and the joy of receiving. This is important because, if sincerely done with joy and an open heart, we also get the feeling of being cared about and loved.
Lao Tzu wrote in the Tao Te Ching; ‘...To have harmony in the kingdom, keep the people’s belly full and bed warm.’ He was speaking of how to keep the country running peacefully through accepting the reality that if people are in want, they will react violently, even if that is self-defeating. What can we learn from this in regards to the current economic crisis in relation to the riots that are spreading globally. It is good to know what is going on in the world from the point of seeing how humans respond to difficulties and create their own trouble.
The Law of Rhythm is basically indicating an expression of habits. A habit is something you do consistently, therefore it has a rhythmic movement to it. The Law of Rhythm shows you your habits and those of society and the planet. For instance the planet is in the habit of going from season to season, that is the rhythm of nature. Words are merely trying to convey the concepts for you to achieve a realisation of the principle behind the outward actions.
Knowledge of how something functions is vital to being able to use it, be it a nuclear power plant or a can opener. If we do not know what it is and how it works and how to use it properly, it is of little or no use, or can even be a great danger to yourself and society. Our mind is the first, last and ever present machine that we deal with every minute of our lives and yet we do not know its ways. In order to understand a device, first we look at its exterior, and then we go further to explore its interior.
