How do you become successful in Network Marketing? It's like any other business that you would start. Find a company you would like to get started with and model their leaders. In other words do what they did to become successful. The reason that franchises like McDonald, Burger King, KFC, etc are successful is that you can order a meal in Boston and then go to San Francisco and order the exact same thing. They have a model and they use in every one of their stores without exception. that is why they are so successful. Sound simple doesn't it? And it is.

The legendary Vince Lombardi who coached the Grenn Bay Packers in the fifties on the first day of training camp used to hold up a football and say "this is a football." What was he trying to convey? You hear so much about setting goals and how important they are to your success. Goals can be very confusing. If you have ever sat down and written out your goals and nothing happens then you know what I mean. If you are in or intend to get started with Network Marketing you will hear about setting goals all the time. First of all setting goals makes no sense if you don't have a plan to achieve them. You have to take action (so that is why it did not work). Here comes the curve ball. Are they really necessary for everybody? I do not think so and I will tell you why.

During the 2000/01 winter season my hubby Richard and I decided to check out Palm Beach, Florida. Boy, did we demystify that scene. He got a job at a posh boutique hotel and I talked my way into being a makeup artist at Donald Trump's Maralago Spa/Salon! But that's another story. When I first started in Network Marketing in 1991 I didn't know my butt from my elbows. I liked what I saw and was sure if other people were doing it I could too. I was coming from the restaurant business so it was similar in the idea that both businesses dealt with people. The difference in the restaurant business they came to you. In Network Marketing you had to go to them whether it be in person, on the phone. When you ran out of names on your warm market list you bought leads. So how was I going to do this.

Bariers Of Entry And Exit

Why do people gravitate to Network Marketing instead of more traditional businesses? I have been in the restaurant business most of my life and when I was laid off from my traditional job I decided I would like to open a sandwich shop. I started doing some investigating and before I was thru the total cost was around $200,000.00. This is without rent, lights, etc. My how prices had changed since I last owned a business and basically I was buying myself a job that I could work 10-12 hours a day for six days a week. The barrier of entry was way too high. Which brings me back to MLM.

Networking And Our Pets

In the fall of 2000 my wife and I went to Florida to see if we wanted to live there. While I was there I started working as a Night Mgr./M'aitre D at a hotel in Palm Beach. I worked nights so my wife was lonely and decided she needed a pet. She did this without my knowing. You can imagine my surprise waking up one morning and hearing barking. I said to myself that doesn't sound like Cydne (my wife). Cyd had adopted a springer/dalmatian mix although she looked like a springer. She didn't take to me at all and I sensed that she didn't like males.
