Spiritual and material fulfillment

In my life, there are two main themes that are parallel and intertwined. In broad strokes, they could be described as spiritual and material. In my early twenties, I had a profound spiritual experience that changed my life forever. During the time of this transformation, I went to India, spent time with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and became an instructor of transcendental meditation.

When I returned to the states I initiated hundreds of people into meditation and began a lifelong journey to fulfill myself spiritually.

Also, like most people, I had to learn how to earn a living and achieve material success.

After completing graduate work in counseling psychology, I became the head counselor in a program for poverty level school dropouts. Later, when I married, and had my first child, I became dedicated to a career in business. I created and ran companies at both the retail and wholesale levels, with and without partners. I also served as a national marketing director for a manufacturing company.

Twice, I built companies to among the largest in the nation in their niche. Following that, I have worked as a small business advisor specializing in marketing and exit planning.

All during that time, I practiced meditation daily, led groups and taught individuals various spiritual practices. I also studied, practiced, and taught various “release” techniques. In the mid 90s, I graduated from CoachU to add those practical skills. I think it is very important to have a daily practice that gives us the tools to have a full, rich, balanced life in all areas. I find that many people have adapted to the challenging, achievement oriented lifestyle of our postindustrial, information-based society. Yet, many are still searching for deeper peace and resolution of conflict.

So, if you are feeling stuck, with me you'll quickly address specific short-term issues, as well as work on long-term, evolutionary shifts in your emotional life and consciousness. We can focus on your personal life, professional development, building your business, relationships, or your life, post career.

I coach by phone so it's easy to fit into your schedule. Benefit from my 40+ years of meditation and processing practice and teaching and 15+ years of coaching.

Gratefulness is an energy, and an attitude, and a style or pattern, and a spirit. It can be thought of or described many ways. Everyone though, will probably agree that it is a good feeling. It is positive. This positive emotion is the foundation for being open to positive change, positive receiving, and positive discovery. It is its own reward. To be in this feeling before good things come or in the face of obstacles gives one a strength and inspiration that brings wonderful things to your life and prepares you for the actions needed to pass through a challenge.

Typically, most of us organize our lives around our attachments and aversions. In doing this, we live to maintain and protect our identity. What is called the personality is a collection of the habits and patterns that have evolved to create who we think we are. This occurs in the stories that we tell ourselves, in our emotions, and our neuro-biological sensations. This is generally unconscious, and our habits and inclinations largely determine our actions.

Sometimes when you want to go in a new direction, you may feel like you are steering a tanker. You look in a new direction, see where you want to go, start turning the wheel, and this colossal ship of your life keeps going in the same direction, doing the same things. The direction is changing but so slow with so much effort. You've probably used many methods to overcome the inertia in your life. You've made resolutions, bought books, audios, DVD's, taken classes..... The list goes on and on if you are serious about your development and accomplishment.

A daily practice is the foundation of your internal growth and outer solution development. What I have in mind is, first of all, a practice that settles you down and helps you find a stillness within. There are many, many ways to do this and it is important for you to find one or a couple that suit you. Many people have routines or practices for their body and their outer life. Going to the gym, jogging, yoga, Pilates, dieting, goal setting, affirmations, to-do lists, etc. I recommend adding another dimension. Generally, this falls into 2 categories – meditation and some type of processing.r

There may be a number of voices in your head. They perform different roles and usually have developed long before now. Some may criticize, delude, compensate, avoid, or seek conformity, excitement, or pleasure. You can learn which voices are fabrications that serve some purpose, usually to protect you or avoid pain, fear, or shame based on a perception you had when you were younger. That is a useful way to uncover a more authentic you and can be very helpful on your journey.

How we relate to others can shape how they feel and how we feel. We can determine our orientation and that affects the relational field we create. There is a positive openness that we can offer that is supportive for the other person. It will affect how the other experiences us and how she/he experiences herself/himself. It is a way of aligning ourselves with a receptivity and positive regard that is generative rather than limiting.

Einstein said "Nothing happens until something moves" This applies to physics and to our personal lives. All the good intentions, planning, goals, and concepts don't mean anything until you take action. As important as these things are, nothing will happen until you move. You will stay in a state of inertia until you act. Another law of physics says that more energy is needed to move a stationary object than is required for one that is already moving. That is part of the law of inertia, which states that “A body in motion tends to remain in motion, a body at rest tends to remain at rest.”

How to get started

The Daily Practice Collection is designed to help you with stress reduction and health improvement as well as transformational change. The centerpiece of the collection is a type of meditation that is easy and simple and one that has been heavily researched, particularly for its health benefits. You will receive a mantra that is suitable for you and instructions on how to use it. Also included in the collection are three more methods or techniques. These are designed to get at your desire to improve your life in ways other than just solving a problem using approaches that you always used before.

Following that, you will have two personal phone calls to check and refine the practices. You will also have access to two group calls.

As a coach, I work with clients who want transformational change. This means stepping out of your current perspective, examining your frame of reference, and doing something different. We work together to look at your assumptions and patterns that have kept the same problems cropping up over and over. The goal is to help you become less habit driven, more open, and increasingly self aware. A daily practice of stilling the mind and having access to a greater range of consciousness is invaluable for the shifts that can come from the self reflection that you undertake.

Other highlights

Here is a way for you to start with the Daily Practice Collection in the least expensive way. You receive the same modules as in the full program but without my personal support or an individualized mantra. You also will have access to a group call. How good is this? Well, I think its very good, if you practice and continue the methods.

I have gone years with the meditation that didn't utilize my mantra and I experienced very good results and saw very good results in the individuals and groups that I trained. I currently meditate daily with the mantra I received over forty years ago and I am deeply grateful for it.

Everyone is different though and we pass through different phases with different conditions. That is why I offer a collection. It is well rounded and gives you several tools that will be available to you daily for health improvement and increased mental clarity and peace.

I use a program called Jigsawbox to deliver the video, text, and audio portions. There are questions at the end of three of the modules. They are not interactive as they are in the full program. What they do though is give you pointers or reminders of what to look for. You can enter your comments or questions and I will address them in the group call.

The basic collection is $47 US. At any time,if you want one to one personal support and a mantra suited for you, this amount will be deducted from the cost of the full Daily Practice Collection.

When you sign up with Jigsawbox, you can then login for the program you have selected.
