FatherGod desires that we HIS Children become more and more like Our Lord, Savior and Brother Christ/Messiah in our daily lives [Romans 8:29], [Ephesians 4:13]. Now, please think about this question, "How can we become more like Christ/Messiah? Being an engineer as one of my several professions, along with my desire to be a doer of FatherGod's Holy Word [James 1:22-26], I naturally had to explore an answer to this question for myself. As part of the process of becoming more and more Christ-like, we are told to put off the old man and to put on the new man [Ephesians 4:22-24]. Again, how in practical terms do we actually do this? In this introduction, I explore our human capabilities and discover that our every ability can be broadly classified into (1) Thinking Thoughts, and (2) Performing Actions. Also, Actions can further be broken down into speaking words and performing deeds (i.e., thought, word and deed). Then I look at what type of thoughts, words and deeds Our Loving Heavenly FatherGod desires that we think, speak and do. Total Sum of Human CapabilityThinking & Action. Thoughts are mental impulses that communicate with every cell of our body. In turn all of our action is the fruit of our thoughts. Our actions can be further broken down into (1) speaking words and (2) performing deeds. Therefore, we can define our words as spoken thoughts and our deeds as thoughts in action. Thus, the basis of the following often quoted quips: "Thought, Word and Deed". "As We Think In Our Heart So Are We". "Change Your Thinking and Change Your Life. FatherGod's Standard For ThoughtsFatherGod clearly tells us that HE desires us to think on whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, and praiseworthy [Philippians 4:8]. He further instructs us that although we walk in the flesh, our warfare is not carnal or fleshly and that the spiritual weapons of our warfare are mighty through FtherGod to the pulling down of strong holds. Moreover, we use our spiritual weapons by casting down imaginations, and every high thing that attempts to exalt itself against the knowledge of God, and by bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ [2Corinthians 10:3-7]. FatherGod's Standard For Words (Spoken Thoughts)It is reasonable that since thoughts that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, and praiseworthy are pleasing to our FatherGod, then we should chose to speak words (spoken thoughts) of the same type as our thoughts. As the psalmist said "let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you my FatherGod [Psalm 19:14]. All through the Bible our FatherGod cautions and instructs us to choose the words we speak wisely, for HE creates the fruit (words) of our lips [Isaiah 57:19]. HE further emphasizes that as we speak in HIS ear HE will do unto us [Numbers 14:28]. We further recall HIS instruction to Joshua to always speak words, think thoughts and perform deeds based on the Holy Word of FatherGod in order to make his way prosperous and successful [Joshua 1:8] Lastly, lets remember that it is by speaking words based on the Word of FatherGod in love that we grow up into Christ in all things [Ephesians 4:15]. FatherGod's Standard For Performing Deeds (Thoughts In Action)Again it follows that FatherGod's standard for our thoughts are a good guide for the type of deeds HE desires us to perform, for a doer of the Word shall be blessed in his deed [James 1:25]. Specifically, deeds that are kind, tender, forgiving, loving, doing good works, praying, walking by faith, etc., are pleasing to FatherGod [Romans, Ephesians, Colossians] SummaryIn summary, by knowing that I only have to control three types of activities (thinking, speaking and doing) along with knowing FatherGod's standards for my resultant thoughts, words and deeds has helped me to be a better doer of FatherGod's Holy Word and I sincerely hope that it will help you also.
