Does God really have a plan for everyone?

No, that’s not true! Whatever karma one binds in this life creates ‘causes’, the results of which one experiences in the next life as ‘effects’. The whole world thus functions on the foundation of this karmic effect. And it is Nature that keeps everything and everyone organized; God does not meddle in this at all! Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan, an Enlightened being, explains how everyone makes a plan for themselves: Over here (in the case of the Government), their planning is for five years. Within those five years, in the first year, they decide that in certain places they will construct dams, in some places they will do this, and in some places, they will do this. They make these kinds of decisions. Then, they put it all down on paper and the entire drawing (blueprint) is prepared. Once this part is sanctioned, the plan is then submitted to materialize; that is when it (the project) is considered to be ‘born’, and from then on, the planning continues to take shape. In the same way, our planning occurs. The planning takes place in one life and it materializes in the next life, and while it materializes, yet another plan is being drawn up (for the next life), ‘this is how we should do it, this is what we want to put into it’ — so the new construction continues in this way. This is an absolute irrefutable principle. Planning Is the Origin of Karma Have you not experienced that although you may not wish it, the karma still happens? Why is that? It is because it was already in the form of a plan, and today it has materialized. If you were actually doing things today, you could make some changes to it. But don’t you find that you cannot make any changes? Planning in the Past Life; Effect in This Life They (the engineers) do the planning for the dam, then it is mapped out on paper. If at that time, the map tears at the spot where the dam is, would the water come gushing out? No, it would not. So, you are able to make changes on the map now, but you would not be able to do that later on. You could have made changes during the planning stage in your past life, but how can you make any changes to it now? Any changes that you make now, will be changes for the next life. If no changes are made, then in the next life, the stamp will be put and sealed according to destiny and it cannot be turned around. That is how all the karma occurs in the form of a plan, which we call ‘causes’. When those very causes take form, it is called ‘effect’. If the planning is done in the past life, when do I do the planning for the next life? Param Pujya Dadashri further explains, “The internal planning goes on in each and every birth, and without the planning, nothing can progress. Let me tell you how the planning happens. If in this life, the planning does not happen at all, then final liberation (moksha) will occur. Now, planning means to charge karma. While the old karma is being discharged, a new one is being charged within. How is it charged? How does the planning occur? Right now, someone might tell you, ‘I donated twenty thousand rupees to a charity.’ And when you ask him, “Boss, you would never give away twenty-thousand rupees to anyone, so how did you manage to give it in this case?” he would reply, ‘I was forced into it by so and so person.’ So, although he gave twenty-thousand (as per the plan of the past life), his planning (for next life) is negative. If he had given the money with a higher inner intent, in the planning the seed would have been sown accordingly and he would have reaped a greater reward (in his next life). Now if a person commits any kind of violence and he feels what he did was wrong; he is truly remorseful, then the planning happens according to that. Also, if you tell a lie, and in your mind your inner intent is that it is a wrong thing, then that is how the planning will go.” Dhyan (intent) depends on one’s development — on Gnan (knowledge) that has developed in you! Even while doing something bad or hurtful, if your dhyan (inner state) is of a high level; you will bind good karma. When a hunter kills a deer, if he repents heavily, ‘Why did this action come to me? I have no choice but to do this to feed my wife and my children, then the Dhyan has risen higher. Planning is dependent not on action, but on internal intention or meditation Param Pujya Dadashri specifies, “The planning of the karmas (cause) is not dependent on kriya (that which occurs through thoughts, speech and acts). It depends on your dhyan (meditation, intent, bhaav). You may donate five thousand rupees because someone pressured you to do so, but your dhyan at the time of giving was not true, meaning it was not in agreement with your actions. At the time of giving the money, if you feel in your mind that you would have never donated if that person had not pressured you, then despite your outwardly altruistic actions, you (planned) go into the animal kingdom because you became bound by this adverse meditation.” Nature does not see one’s actions; it takes into consideration one’s intent at the time of action Intent is a very subtle thing that cannot be seen by anybody except the Gnani! From intent (dhyan) is created a plan that gives results in the next life. Whatever intentions are done, they are deposited into Nature, and Nature helps bring all the other circumstances together, to help one bring it into action (effect). Thus, intent goes as input into ‘the computer’, and for it to materialize into results (the output), all the other circumstances have to come together. New intents in this life are ‘causes’, the effects of which will be experienced in the next life Thus, the cycle of cause and effect, effect and cause, continues for infinite lifetimes. Unless Gnani Purush stops the ‘causes’, and puts an end to one’s ‘doership’ of the cause karma, this cycle of cause and effect will go on and on. When someone robs you, the intent or meditation (the state of mind) becomes violent and hurtful. Such intent occurs in the darkness, because of ignorance. What kind of intent occurs in the One where there is pure light — the knowledge of the Self? He will say it is ‘in order’ and will move on without any positive or negative inner intent. So, knowledge of the Self is crucial to stop this cycle of cause and effect. This knowledge is called Self-Realization and it is easily attained only from a Gnani. Only the ‘Liberated’ can liberate! Hence come, let’s pray with an utmost pure inner intent (dhyan) that ‘May I meet Gnani soon, and with His divine grace, I attain Self-Realization.” Let’s put a halt to all other plans by making this plan for ourselves!
