Since ancient times we have been fascinated by the celestial orbs that emerge overhead in the evening skies – the sun, the moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. The enduring nature of the planets, sun and moon are at once a source of comfort and wonder. It is no surprise therefore, that they were given god-like status and attributes.
The ancient ones felt energy correlations between the days of the week and each of the celestial orbs, and consequently named each day after a planet with specific magical influences. By tuning into this energy, and aligning your intention to utilise this energy, you can empower yourself to enjoy a magical week.
Herewith are the seven days and the areas of influence their namesakes rule. Tap into this energy for a secret and powerful link to divine assistance.
SUNDAY is the first day of the week, and named in honour of the sun – the centre of our Solar system, source of light and sustainer of life. Focus on issues pertaining to security today, whether that be in terms of employment, income, moral or physiological, family-based or health. You can also lay foundations for future success on this day.
MONDAY’s namesake, the moon, and humanity are intrinsically linked. Feminine cycles reflect the moon’s journey, tides rise and fall with the moon cycle, and seasonal cycles ebb and flow through the new, emerging, full and waning phases. Today, focus on accepting change gracefully, releasing anxieties and past hurts, and letting the depth of your feelings show.
TUESDAY is named after the planet representing war, courage and conflict, Mars. Today is the perfect day to re-charge your personal power. Focus on things in your life associated with spontaneity, action, initiative and daring.
WEDNESDAY is named after Mercury which rules over intellect, versatility, healing and mediation. If you have a desire to travel or study, today is a good day to turn your conscious mind to making it happen. It's also a great day to open your heart chakra to healing at a very deep level; focus on the three G-forces of love: Grace, Gratitude and Generosity.
THURSDAY is a fabulous day for working with self-expression, as it is named after Jupiter – the planet that signifies expansion and growth. Jupiter represents strong morals, prosperity, maturity, dependability and luck. Focus on issues related to communication, courage, inspiration and creative connection.
FRIDAY is named after the planet Venus, whose properties includes love, beauty, values and comfort. This is definitely a day to explore the highest possibilities to the highest degree for your highest good! Think bigger and better, onwards and upwards, and open your third eye chakra to see, both physically and intuitively, new perspectives and opportunities.
SATURDAY is named after Saturn, whose properties are discipline, patience and perseverance. In ancient times it was the furthest planet that could be seen by the naked eye. Its seemingly infinite journey around the Sun connects us to a greater world beyond, to a timeless, spaceless place of all-knowing. Focus on achieving pure awareness through consciousness. Aim for wisdom, knowledge, understanding, spiritual connection and bliss.
