Ideal, he or she is my ideal companion. Tall or short, blonde or brunette, loud or quiet, wise, or dumb, the list of preferences goes on and on. They must act this way, they must come from this bloodline, and they must surely be on the same level. List, we’ve riddled love down to checklists. A list so long that it takes half a lifetime to find the ending. Even the shape of one’s body is more important than the chronic joy another brings upon our face. What happened to us? When did we lose ourselves to numbness? We’ve lost our purpose in life and began living in settling. “Oh well, this is better than nothing.” We begin to believe with might. Inaptitude comes not with lackluster preparation but with inadequate information. If purpose has never been taught how is it that we are supposed to walk the walk? When we’re only half full we can only get halfway there. We are meant to be whole, therefore if truth is not there, we find other ways to complete our circle; inviting chaos and drama into our lives. Instead of a companion entering our life through revelation, we design one on paper that doesn’t come close to the soul that is actually ours. Companionship or our soul-mate doesn’t come when sought out, but they are added as we walk along our path, our path that wades in truth and grace. There is another half to every single human being on this planet. Our soul’s lover is out there waiting to unite, but it is us, this being that we are, that is preventing that from happening. We have to release control, embrace faith, and relish in confusion. For we will not immediately understand why our feet move, but eventually we will on God’s time. When we seek first our purpose and walk it, God’s will reveals itself, including that soul that finishes us. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33) Then we must be entirely open and receive whomever God places in our lives. A renown doctor may be meant for a penniless artist, an extravagant singer may tether to a plumber, and a gardener may match perfectly with a politician. We have no idea of God’s plan nor are we all spiritually on the same level, which is fine we are meant to enliven one another’s lives. Dismissing someone that makes us happy because he or she isn’t up to a standard someone else made, leaves nothing but suffering; suffering that leads to thoughtless acts and devastation. Our lives are not meant to be one trial after another, but a plethora of joyful moments. For life is very much lived in seconds and minutes. Opportunity is there and perfection has been written high above in the heavens; just because we live in imperfection doesn’t mean we will never obtain that status. Follow the light, couple the soul of truth, and display the power God has given a union. And make your thoughts and words stream along this line, “Reveal my will, I desire to live in life.”
