Did you know that right now, right this moment you have the ability with what you already have to leverage your own personal brilliance in order to build your business? Well, you do.
I love this quote from Wayne Dyer ‘I am realistic, I expect miracles’. Totally cool. Recently, I posted this picture on Facebook. Someone who is a friend of a friend said, ‘This is silly, grow up and come back to reality”. Truly, I was shocked. I guess I shouldn’t be but I was. How is it possible that there are still people who don’t believe in miracles? How is it possible that they don’t believe it’s realistic?
Many of you may be enjoying a long weekend, Wooohooooo!!! Recently, I’ve seen a number of people on Facebook , who are obviously really u nhappy in their jobs. 71% of people hate their jobs, according to a recent Gallup poll and that fact is just s ad. Why do we stay in jobs that we hate? Really, when it boils down to it – at the very ba se of t he core – it’s because most people believe they don’t have a choice. They need the money and therefore the y have no choice.
Most people don't know they possess brilliance. But they do. We all have brilliance. Many times it goes untapped. Even business owners leave much of what they have to offer untapped. Why? Oh, you know, those nasty cousins - Doubt and Fear, oh yeah, and the other cousin, Worry.
Of course, I'm asking you to compare yourself to the cute, wily albeit undecipherable and totally out of control fur ball on Bugs Bunny as opposed to the true description - It is characterized by its black fur, pungent odor when stressed, extremely loud and disturbing screech, and ferocity when feeding. Hmm, well you decide if either description fits you. Why do I ask, you say?
You just need to spend some time in Las Vegas to know this is true, Every time I go to Vegas I am in awe of the outright hugeness of everything! (I know, hugeness likely isn’t a real word, but hey, if Jon Stewart can make up words, so can I!) The money that is spent to build and maintain these incredible structures blows my mind.
Ever have those moments (sometimes days, weeks, months or years?) where it doesn't matter what you do, you don't feel like you're moving forward?
What if you knew way more than you actually give yourself credit for? Is being sensitive to what’s going on around you a help or a hindrance? Is it a strength or a weakness? What if you could finally give yourself permission to be aware of everything you’re already aware of? Hmmm. (I can hear you now, ‘Karen, what are you talking about?’)
Somewhere along the way we learned that we must do more, be more, have more and anything less is deemed 'not good enough'. You know, even my tag lines have been...be more or attract more but too many of us take that out of context. I work with very smart, top achievers and many suffer from this on-going feeling and, quite honestly, it's debilitating and more importantly it's so pervasive we don't even notice it. It's so underground it's above ground. Okay, now I think I'm sounding like Michael from The Office, sorry.
There is often a big misunderstanding when people are first introduced to the principles of attraction, especially when it comes to creating better health. Recently, I received an email from a podcast listener who has had a medical disability for the past five years. He heard a podcast where I talked about reaping what you sow and wanted to know why in the world he would create more pain for himself. He also wanted to know what he was doing wrong.
Healthy skepticism is a good thing but what if we could actually reframe it and call it ‘awareness’ instead? Here’s why, the definition of skepticism has a negative bent to it – ‘an attitude of doubt or a disposition to incredulity either in general or toward a particular object.’See, we’re already starting out with a filter of doubt and given the way the mind works – if we’re expecting something to not be true – our subconscious mind will automatically look for evidence of our focus.
If you’re a manager or a business owner, you may have said the statement ‘it’s hard to find good help’. Now first, before I go any further I want you to notice that the statement is a conclusion. And, if you’ve read or listened to any of my information before today, you’ll know that when we come to a conclusion, we block out all other possibilities. So let me ask, do you want it to be hard to find good help? Yeah, I didn’t think so.
Hi there ! Do you really want to change your love life? Recently I was watching one of my fave movies, The Wedding Date (mostly because Dermott Mulroney is just sooo damn handsome, don't you think?), and he is quoted as saying - 'Every woman has the exact love life she wants.' Now there was a time that I would have rigorously argued against that but I now know it's the absolute truth.
Are you ready to have more money? Really? My next question is - Are You Ready to Give Up the Struggle ? Well, are you? I know, I know – you’re jumping up and down saying “YES! YES! YES!” to all those questions. Of course, who doesn’t want to have more? Who wouldn’t be ready to give up the struggle? Who wouldn’t want to have more money? You’re right, who wouldn’t? BUT! And this is a BIG BUT! What it means is you have to think different, act different, be different. And most of all, you need to give up having to be right.
Take your current yearly income and imagine for a moment that you were able to make that amount of money monthly. Would that shift how you felt about the economy? I first encountered that concept when I met David Neagle, Income Acceleration Coach in Los Angeles a couple of years ago. He said it to me so matter-of-factly that I had no choice but to believe him. What if this were really true? What I’ve seen of David’s work with entrepreneurs that I personally know is that he’s taken some from low five figure businesses to millionaires, in the past year.
How Do I Prove that Law of Attraction is True? My cousin and I have had a debate over the premise 'You create your own reality' for many years now. She will agree to some degree, but only as far as the concept of 'self fulfilling prophecy', and has long challenged me to prove it. I'm pretty sure that the LOA is true, but being pretty sure isn't really enough to have any positive effect. How can I prove it to both her and myself? Thanks, Diana W.
Ignoring your money situation will not change it. Saying affirmations that you don’t believe will not change it (at least not for a long time). Conjuring up strong emotions every once and awhile about what it would be like to have more money will not change it. Worrying about your money situation will not change it. Getting frustrated about your money situation will not change it. Judging yourself for having money issues will not change it. Feeling badly about your money situation will not change it. What will change it?r
Wouldn’t it be great if everyone could speak up for what they wanted? That was the turning point for me. That was the point when my whole life turned around and I started to have more of what I wanted in my life. It was necessary to get to where I am today.
Recently I had a question come across my desk stating that ‘the law of attraction suggests that I should put myself into the feeling of having what I desire – that is, a loving and supporting relationship (for me at this moment). But I never had that. How can I imagine it? I don’t know how it feels. ‘ Fabulous question!! It’s true! When we’re asking for something that seems to be completely foreign to us – it IS hard to imagine what it would feel like. The great news is that there are plenty of ways, at least in this case, to connect with the feeling.
More business, more clients or customers… aaahhh, music to a business person’s ears. This seems to be almost as elusive as the unicorn. It’s almost like a mystery. I have great fortune in getting to talk to a lot of business people, both through my coaching, speaking engagements and as former Chamber Vice-President and this truly is a universal issue. First things first, before you read any further, I want you to think about why you aren’t getting the clients or customers you think you should be getting.
