Sharon Ballantine Quick Facts

have always felt that one of my missions in life was to be a parent, the best parent I could possibly be. I am in the process of writing my first book, ”The Art of Blissful Parenting” in which I guide parents on the practical and spiritual aspects of raising functional, happy kids. Teaching parents how to follow their own Internal Guidance System, and teaching their children how to follow their own. My kids are now grown and being with them is my idea of happiness!

Other passions that propel me forward, are….traveling the world and experiencing other cultures, studying nutrition, reading and writing non-fiction, and being wildly social!

I studied Marketing at The University of Washington until life took me in a different direction.

In 2007 I became a certified Law of Attraction Life Coach from Quantum Success Coaching Academy.

In 2011 I graduated from The Four Winds Society –Light Body School of Energy Medicine, founded by Alberto Villoldo PhD.

It is a great temptation to give your teen advice about what they should do in a given situation. As parents, we may believe they will benefit from our experience and direction. It may even feel like they want us to tell them what to do. It will serve all of us better, especially in the long run, if we focus on coaching and mentoring our children on how to find their own answers.

A wonderful actor died last week. I’ve enjoyed watching him portray a variety of “bad guys with a big heart” over the years, but last week, I learned something new about him and my appreciation for Bob Hoskins has grown even greater. Hoskins left school at 15 because he was told he was stupid. The truth was, Hoskins had dyslexia, but the label stuck and he took the negative path of gangs and violence. Obviously, this is a far cry from the life of an actor. Then the Universe stepped in, and fortunately, Bob Hoskins was open to it.

Illness and injury are to a certain degree, a part of being alive. Even though there are some people who seem never to get sick, it is unlikely that anyone has gone through an entire life without ever getting a single cold or suffering a few cuts or bruises along the way. Sure, some people are more illness and accident prone than others, but anyone can have health challenges as a result of thoughts, feelings, and habits. Everything that comes into your experience matches the vibration that you put out.

One area that is sometimes overlooked when scheduling your kids’ time is how important it is to allow independent play. It might not be necessary to have a literal scheduled block of time for play, especially if play still comes naturally to both you and your children, but if you find that you or your child are working more than playing, then marking off a specific time to play together may be a cure for what ails you. Play is an important part of growing up. It gives kids a chance to try new things and to take on different roles to see what feels good to them.

Denial has gotten a bad reputation in a lot of circles. Most people were raised to be realistic rather than day-dreamers, but we live in a state of denial. This focus on being realistic actually places many limitations on you and focuses on the past rather than the future. If you want to raise your children to fulfill their potential and to exceed expectations, then you must allow them to daydream and live on the banks of that lovely river in Egypt. Otherwise, you are restricting them, energetically and emotionally tying their hands and their futures.

Many people struggle with affirmations. They find they’re not comfortable voicing them, or they aren’t sure what to say exactly because the words feel like a lie. Some people insist that specific words should be used while others should be avoided, and that because affirmations are typically about something that you want to change in your life, it’s important to “fake it until you make it.”

Many people are very good at planning their lives. They micromanage their time -- how they’ll spend this hour, the week, the month and even the year. They decide when they’ll go on vacation and they make plans. They plan for their child’s education and for their retirement. A certain amount of planning is usually a good thing. Where people get it wrong is when they go totally overboard and don’t allow. People are so conce ed that they don’t go over budget because their finances are so limited that they scrimp and watch every penny. They don’t go anywhere or do anything.

The Law of Attraction is a scientifically proven natural law and it always works. It has to. You may not understand natural laws or even be aware of their existence, but that doesn’t mean they stop working. Consider the familiar question “If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around, does it make a sound?” The tree falling is not in question. The tree falls because of gravity. Whether or not the tree makes a sound is the question because sound is perceived or not.

The concept underlying the Universal Law of Attraction is that everything in the universe is composed of energy that vibrates at different frequencies. All matter, and even our thoughts, is composed of energy. The Universal Law of Attraction states that like energy attracts like energy. What we think affects what comes into our lives. Sometimes we attract positive things, and other times we attract negative things, based on the vibrational frequency of our thoughts. How do you develop thoughts that invite or manifest the things you really want into your life?

Using the Universal Law of Attraction to attract what you want in life all comes down to the same principle: you need to focus your attention on the thing you want with the strongest emotion. However, focusing and trusting your internal guidance system to do the right thing in order to manifest what you want demands a certain amount of action on your part. For example, it’s fine to focus on losing weight and focusing your thoughts and emotions on wanting to attract a thinner, more beautiful body.
