The Alte ative Method To Weight Loss

We relate to food in many different ways. We find it exists to satisfy us on many different levels. So it is not a surprise that it is used as a tool and is manipulated as such. It can be a friend to turn to in moments of crises or depression. It is something that takes our mind off things so we can relax. We are feeding our hearts and minds, not our body. When food is accessed in this way, when it becomes a stabilizing factor for our behavior it has become more than just food. Yet that is all it is, food, substance and energy for our body.

Existing With Peace

To obtain peace one must first find the path that leads us to ourselves. By finding one’s self, one’s true self, we open ourselves up to the possibility of existing without fear, worry, struggle, or blockages in our lives. To be free of withholding ourselves and to exist with nothing in the way, that is peace and all its possibilities that it brings. We are not meant to struggle against life or ourselves. And when we come from a place that is our true self and not the shell we present to the world, then we are free.

Accepting and Becoming Yourself

When we go through life sometimes we create an idea of ourselves, one which may not correlate to who we truly are, but only fits with what we think we are. There can be an imbalance between the two, that one outweighs the other. How do you find yourself when you have created layers of supposition and false reality upon yourself? By going within and realizing you can accept yourself for who you truly are, with nothing else. You do not need acceptance from another. It your acceptance of yourself, your true self, that is real and powerful.

The Moment You Are In Is The Only One That Exists

Being in the moment is a very important tool to finding happiness in your life, for if we are forever looking elsewhere, we will never be happy now. If we are always looking back at the life we had, we are losing our presence in now. Living in the moment is about being present; it is being nowhere else other than here. How hard this is? It is how hard you make it because it is a decision. It is a choice that creates the possibility for you to flow with life in a far easier way. By being in the moment, you are releasing the struggle with how things have to be for your future.

How To Fit In

We often look at the world as something to be gotten into, to find our place and where we fit. We search until we feel comfortable, stable and right with our place, but sometimes things change. Our group of friends may evolve; we might move or find ourselves just looking again. How do you fit in, find the place in this world for you? People can be guarded, cliquish, and unaccepting of others. How do you reach into a group and find out what holds you there? If you can reach out just a little past your comfort zone to find others, this will help.

Intuitive Child Raising

As parents, we feel drawn to do our best, to provide all that we can to our children. We want to give them everything they will need to grow up and succeed at life. But each child is different, just as we are as parents. The connection between parent and child is immense and so important. How you interact, provide, listen, and behave with each other is the groundwork for their life. For you as a parent it can be hard to grasp and understand what your child needs, the uniqueness of the issue, and how to respond.

The Source Of Addiction

Addiction comes from a place of wanting, of needing something to fulfill and replace part of one’s life. It can be seen as an escape, but the real need is much more. What is missing that needs to be replaced? What part of life is empty and aching for fulfillment? It is a place that may be hard to reach and see. One often seeks to fill the emptiness without the truth behind the desire. Why is the desire there? That is the real question and one that should be sought out, for from there the problem arises.

Letting Go Of Doubt

When you doubt yourself, you are basically saying that you cannot do what you want to do. For every moment we doubt ourselves, we are limiting our abilities and we are stopping ourselves. We limit ourselves, and therefore we lack self-confidence. It is a two-way street. If we doubt ourselves, we have no self-confidence. One creates the other. When we stop ourselves from what we want to do because we have no faith in ourselves, our lack of confidence grows. Usually doubt begins to form not because of what we think of ourselves, but because of how we perceive others to see us.

Being Happy Now

We think we need to be attached to things so we can be comfortable and happy. We think that by having one particular thing, we will be okay. We believe that by surrounding ourselves with our idea of happiness, then we will become happy. But this can not be further from the truth. The less we hold onto, the freer we really are, in terms of happiness and fulfillment. If we look to objects, things, and necessities as our salvation, then we are lost. We are lost amongst a sea of what can and will always change.

Finding True Love

We all desire to be with that special someone, to find the one we are meant to be with. Yet it feels hard and sometimes impossible to connect and to be found. There are so many people, so many to search through, so many choices. Yet even to meet the right one seems improbable. It is not. It is not a task or a struggle, you must believe it is probable, to the point of it being your right. You deserve happiness and companionship, and you will find it. It will come, for this is part of your life and in truth the odds are with you.

Freedom From Stress and Worry

When we feel under pressure or stressed out, we tend to compartmentalize the issues. We categorize the event, the problem, or how we are seeing it and then justify our behavior. Life is not about obstacles or about seeing what needs to be done. We live our lives in constant awareness of the next thing, of always looking forward to what is coming next. This is not life; this is being afraid and trying to manage it. Stress is an overreaction to what you have decided you are either afraid of or what you need to control.

Learning To Cope With Insecurities

If you are insecure, know that you can change this by letting yourself see your self-worth. You do not need to continue on in this life as less, for that is what insecurity does to you. It takes away a part of you and throws it away. When we choose not to claim all of ourselves and see who we really are, insecurities are born. Let's say that you feel at a loss for words around others, that you are shy and perhaps even think less of yourself compared to others. Why does this happen?

Perception and Truth

Perception or truth, which dominates your reality more strongly, which is more present in how you relate to the world and even yourself? We can all exist in both or more heavily in one or the other. If we fall too heavily on our own perceptions, we become clouded, our judgment is altered, and our emotions are presented in a way that is further from the truth of what is real. In order to know whether or not you come from a place that is purely your perception or truth is to ask whether or not you are seeing clearly.

Do you find yourself stuck in the same role in life, not only with yourself but with the people you know? Because people see you in a certain way, do you keep acting that way? Sometimes it is hard to be who you really are when the interactions you have with people keep you locked in a certain role. How others see you, respond, and relate to you can make you feel like you have to stay in a specific role in life. People do this to each other all the time, even to themselves.

Feeling Better After A Stressful Moment

Learning to recover from moments of stress can be a valuable tool to have. Letting go of the stress connected to a moment that has passed can feel hard and sometimes difficult, for even though the moment has passed, our bodies and minds are still replaying the event and holding onto how it felt. How then does one let go when the time has passed and there is a new moment beginning? It can be far too easy to carry the stress forward and to keep it locked into our bodies; this causes fatigue, anger, worry, discontentment, and even sickness.

Opening Up To Inspiration

We are all meant for something; that is what is real in life. When this thing we are meant for is not part of us, not with us, that is when we are at a loss in life, in our careers, and in our personal lives. All of this is connected, for when we connect to what we are meant for, where we are meant to be, and in the end who we are meant to be with, that is truth. That is our inspiration and that is how we really live our lives. We all can find this; we can find our home in the life that is in our heart and a connection to it that is real.

When Life Feels Heavy or Hard

Opening up to the possibilities in life is important. If we feel hopeless and challenged too often, we lose the purpose in our life. We stop seeing what could be, and instead see the end of things. Letting go of this viewpoint in life enables you to see life as it really is for you. If we believe life is a struggle, then it will continuously feel this way. If we see life as uplifting, then everyday we can experience this.

Losing Yourself In A Relationship

Losing yourself in a relationship is a common occurrence. It happens when we forgo our own happiness for that of another, when we give up on our self so that the relationship stays as how we think it should. We give our identity over to the combined effort of keeping the relationship in stasis. When we lose ourselves to a relationship, we are inducing a sadness and a loss from within ourselves. The relationship can never make up for what we have given up to keep it going.

Releasing What Is Old Within Us

Letting go of everything that has been holding you back in life is not only beneficial, but it is also imperative for your well-being and who you really are. We are constantly changing and evolving, but often we lack the ability to free ourselves up from old ways of being and old habits. In order to fully grow and completely be as we are meant to be in this life, we need the ability to let go of who we used to exist as. Often times in life, we develop habits and behaviors and do not let them go.

Relating To Time Differently

When we project ourselves forward in time, we alter our behavior now. We change how we feel based on what may be. We begin to think differently because of our thoughts about the future. By being only in the moment you are in, you let go of your future, you let go of planning and trying to control everything. You let go of maintaining any form of awareness you have of yourself in the future. Time is not how we think it is. We believe we will exist as the same as we are now, with only time passing. We believe that we will continue being as we think or imagine we will.

What Peace Means

Being at peace is the state of being where one is, fully immersed in life, living connected and completely accepting of all things. It is living without struggle, resisting change, or withholding oneself from life. Become connected by knowing yourself, tuning into who you are, how you are, and what you feel. This connection to yourself will help you in your connection to everything outside of yourself, allowing you to feel at one with everything. The moment you are in right now carries with it this possibility of connection.

Adjusting To Your Teenager

When our children reach their teen years, they can become defiant and seem to be working against us. Why is this? Because they are trying to search out who they are, and in the process, their perception of you tends to change. This can be the hardest part; a once loving and rather obedient child transforming into someone who could care less about you. It is easy to feel defensive and respond to their remarks with anger or hostility, but this only creates more distance from you.

Dealing With Hard Moments

How do you relate to the moment you are in when you feel like you are struggling or having a hard time? First, one must look at the reality of what is happening and where you are. It is very important not to confuse the present moment with moments from the past or worry about the future, simply see the moment only as it is. We often take the moment we are inside of and overlay our emotions and our thoughts on it. We perceive things as being a certain way from past experiences; this may not be valid with the truth of where we are now.

What Does It Mean To Be In The Moment?

What is the meaning behind being in the moment; what does it really do for us? Existing solely in the moment you are in allows you to connect to what is real. Anytime we are withdrawn, distant, or not present, we are living in a way that is not real. Existing anywhere other than the exact moment you are in creates a false world around you. When we are lost in our past, our memories, or our thoughts, we are existing in a time that is no longer real. Even if we are somewhat present, yet distant because of our thoughts or emotions, we are not existing in reality.

How To Be Free Of The Past

We may all have experienced something in our lives that overshadows us. Something that we find somehow defines us, makes us who we are or who we think we are. We pull our past along with us constantly. We give it far more importance than it deserves. We think of it as us, as I, as who we are. Our past is our past, simple as that, experiences come and gone, no more. Yet we believe it is our past that has created us. Therefore, our past is present with us in every moment. This couldn’t be further from the truth.

Uncovering Your True Self

Understanding your true nature is a fundamental part of your happiness. We tend to overlook this; instead, we act as who we think we are. We look for our behaviors to correlate with who we think we are rather than what we really are. We act a certain way so that the idea of ourselves is under control and continues to make sense to us. We behave under the assumption that how we have presented ourselves is who we are, but unde eath it all is our true self. If this does not correlate with how we see ourselves, then our happiness is further away then we might like to think.

Releasing Fear

Whether you realize it or not, a lot of our actions and reactions are based upon fear. For we believe what has happened will happen again. We let our imaginations run wild with the possibilities, whether harmful or not. We see the world through eyes connected to our past, for we can not imagine a future unrelated to something we haven't experienced, if it has happened before, it will happen again. But life doesn't work this way, there is no pattern of repetition except in our minds. We even see something as the same even though it is unrelatable.

Life Is Not A Pattern - How We See It Is

Seeing the world as new is about letting go of what feels old. It is about realizing the world is constantly changing and that you are too. Because of this, everything around you is constantly evolving, growing, changing, and nothing is repeated. The only thing that holds onto repetition is our mind. We relate what we see through our mind first. Our perception of reality is often far different than what it really is. We believe that what we are experiencing in the moment has already occurred in a very similar way at one point.

Obsessive Behaviors And Their Source

Obsessive behaviors occur when one is trying to make themselves feel better; it is a mechanism created by the need to sooth, compensate, or satiate an issue. The behavior is a way of trying to balance out an internal problem. It is an unconscious way of trying to take care of an unrecognized issue, for sometimes the need behind the behavior goes unnoticed, and therefore one is not able to cope with the real problem. Any kind of behavior that occurs over and over again because of a desire can be deemed obsessive.

Releasing Tension and Stress

As we go through life, we tend to add up what has happened to us, what has gone wrong, and how we made it through it. We take and add up what has come before and hold onto it, instead of letting go of it. Therefore, by adding up our troubles, our mistakes, and our problems, we are creating a closet full of discontent, not only in our minds but in our hearts as well. By adding the pressure of what came before onto today, we are then waiting for more to come. Our body feels this, as does our mind.

Why You Are Afraid

Sometimes we hold onto fear even after the moment has passed. We maintain this sense of fear because we still haven't let it go. What happens to us stays with us until we make a conscious effort to let it go. When we tense up in life, it could be because of a past fear, and not just the moment we are in. Fear can come from any moment in your past. When something in our life makes us feel afraid it can stay with us, until we let it go. We can carry this feeling with us always. It can spring up in us when we least expect it, for it is attached to our emotions and thoughts.

Being Present And Aware

Seeing the moment for what it is, is important for how we relate to it. Without construing false pretenses or imagining outcomes, we let the moment be just as it is without further interpretation. To let the moment exist how it is, to be present with it, allows us to not only fully experience it, but to be part of it. We create a separation from our reality when we pull ourselves into our heads; our thoughts destroy our interaction with it. We become someone who is relating by memory, with fear of the outcome, or are simply too lost in thought to be present.

Reason Behind Overeating

Food for many has become a battleground; it exists in a way beyond nourishment into fulfillment. Sometimes we actively eat to satiate something other than hunger. We eat to feel better, to forget, to be in control, to relax and let go. The list goes on. It is when we eat for anything other than hunger that we have created this struggle, this battle with food. It is a habit formed to help ourselves to deal with something bigger, more “powerful”, than we can cope with. So we resort to food as a way to put it off. Food is not the problem; it is not bigger than what it is.

Intuitive eating is the idea that if you listen to yourself you will find balance. You will eat in a way connected to you and what your real needs are. Each of us intuitively knows deep down what we need. This goes for food as well, and what we eat can be a reflection of our body’s true desires. Do you ever crave something deeply without knowing why? This kind of craving doesn’t necessary linger for it is not picked up by the mind and obsessed over. It is not a thought of what you would like to eat, what you deserve or want.

Why We Fear Something

We think that if we fear something, it is there to stay, that it is permanent, and unchangeable. But this is not so, and we must take a very personal look at ourselves to see why we think this is. When we believe something about ourselves, we encapsulate it, we make it stronger, and therefore more real to us. We see ourselves as one way, and we become so. What we believe about ourselves is how we are. It is just as easy to change your perception of yourself as it is to change your mind. And fears work the same way.
